What is rare is that the brigade is not only the "locomotive" of many Chiang Kai-shek's insurrectionary troops, but also a Chiang Kai-shek army unit that my underground staff has been working for more than a decade. The composition of the officers and men of the entire 11th Brigade, Cao Yousen, and his 1st Regiment was even more rare at that time. This is mainly reflected in the following three aspects:
Although Cao Youshan, commander of the New 11th Brigade, studied at peking university, as the founder of the brigade, he has always been very much in favor of the anti-Japanese propositions put forward by our army, and has repeatedly covered up the underground staff of our army, which is rare among the many uprising surrender troops.
Second, many of the officers of the 1st Regiment of the New 11th Brigade are underground staff of our army, and the regiment has a total of 13 companies, and the company commanders of 11 companies are our men.
Third, and most importantly, Cao Youshan, with the help of my underground staff, was made the commander of the 11th Regiment and the commander of the new 11th Brigade.
What's going on? It turned out that in April 1944, when Chen Guobin, the former commander of the New 11th Brigade, died of illness, who would succeed him as the commander of the New 11th Brigade, and a fierce debate was fought between the 1st regiment and the 2nd regiment to which the brigade belonged.
At that time, the underground organization of the 1st Regiment was relatively strong, and the officers and soldiers pursued progress, while the 2nd Regiment was seriously damaged by the underground organization of the 2nd Regiment because of the appearance of traitors Ren Huaiyi and others.
At that time, the die-hard officer you Zaizhong, the deputy brigade commander of the New 11th Brigade, openly promoted our traitor Ren Huaiyi and others, and these people made a big noise for a while and elected Shi Xiaocheng, the commander of the 2nd Regiment, as the brigade commander.
At that time, the underground organization of the 1st Regiment believed that if Shi Xiaocheng became the brigade commander, the consequences would be unimaginable for the 1st Regiment. Therefore, not only did he strongly recommend cao you to serve as a brigade commander, but also used various connections and opportunities to explain the pros and cons to Deng Baoshan, and finally out of the stability of the situation of Anbian, Dingbian, and Jingbian (commonly known as the trilateral), Deng Baoshan decided to let Cao join as the acting brigade commander of the new 11th Brigade.
Thrilling one: 2 regiments want to "solve" 1 regiment by force
According to the records, the new 11th Brigade encountered a lot of trouble at that time, including the trouble of Hu Zongnan transferring troops to Baotou to accept the reorganization, and the trouble of the deputy brigade commander and the commander of the 2nd Regiment, Shi Xiaocheng, disintegrating the 1st Regiment from within, and facing a greater crisis.
On October 15, 1945, just as Cao Yousan was rushing to Yulin to ask Deng Baoshan for advice, the 2nd Regiment of the New 11th Brigade sent Ren Huaiyi and others to openly release words to the effect that if the 1st Regiment refused to accept the reorganization, the 2nd Regiment would enter Anbian on October 28 in the name of long-distance camping, and at that time the 2nd Regiment would directly solve the 1st Regiment by force.
The situation was very urgent, not only because the 1st Regiment faced the question of survival or destruction, but also whether it could disrupt Hu Zongnan's battle plan to attack Yan'an.
Fortunately, Zhao Wuchen, commander of the 3rd Company of the 1st Regiment, was my underground staff, and when he learned that the enemy 2nd Regiment was plotting to assassinate the 1st Regiment, he promptly reported this important information to his superiors. After judging, the superiors decided that if the 1st Regiment did not hold an uprising in time, there would be a danger of total annihilation, so it was decided that the 1st Regiment would hold an uprising at dawn on October 25.

In order to prevent the 2nd Regiment from causing trouble and sabotage, Dingbiandi appointed Ge Shen, chief of the security section of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region, to secretly carry a radio station to Anbiancheng, where the 1st Regiment was located, to participate in the leadership of the rebel forces. At the same time, Zhang Wenzhou, chief of staff of the 3rd Brigade of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region Police Force, was ordered to lead 7 regiments and 1 battalion, 8 and 9 regiments and other units to rush to Anbian at night and be ready to receive and support the rebel troops at any time.
On the evening of October 24, the 1st Regiment Uprising Headquarters was formally established, and Niu Huadong, deputy commander of the 1st Regiment, served as the commander-in-chief of the uprising, and he ordered Chai Mingtang, the 2nd Battalion of the 1st Regiment stationed in the Baijing area, to transfer the 6th Company Commander of the Battalion and the 6th Company of Zhu Zichun's underground worker to AnbianCheng to carry out his mission.
At dawn on October 25, the 1st Regiment of rebel troops began to move, first taking control of the stubborn deputy brigade commander and chief of staff of the new 11th Brigade, the county magistrate of Anbian County, the director of the Public Security Bureau, and others, and the former traitors were killed on the spot. In the afternoon of the same day, the strength of 4 companies of the 3rd Police Brigade rushed to Anbiancheng first, and together with the rebel troops, controlled all the commanding heights of Anbiancheng, and the armed uprising was successful.
In order to allow Cao to return to the army to participate in the uprising, NiuHua Dongqian telegraphed Deng Baoshan, saying: "The 2 regiments must solve the 1 regiment by force, and the confrontation is under way. Forcing him to send back to Cao Again overnight to deal with the matter, The Cao Dai Brigade Commander, after arriving at Anbian, quickly issued an uprising telegram.

Thrill 2: The 2nd Regiment urgently asked Hu Zongnan for help
It stands to reason that since the 1st Regiment and the New 11th Brigade headquarters successfully held an uprising, the subsequent situation should have been smooth, but in fact this was not the case.
Receiving the news of the uprising of the 1st Regiment, the commander of the 2nd Regiment, Shi Xiaocheng, immediately confronted each other and adopted three sets of plans.
The first was to order the 2 regiments to enter a state of battle, hold the bunker fortifications in Ningtiao Liangcheng and the bunkers on the outskirts of the city, and unite with the landlords to return to their hometowns to prepare to hold Ningtiao Liangcheng.
The second was to send an urgent telegram to Hu Zongnan, requesting that troops be quickly sent to reinforce Ningtiaoliang.
The third was to order Mu Shoushan to form a commando team, immediately launch an attack on Anbian City, and do everything possible to delay the preparation time for our army to attack Ningtiaoliang.
What is worse is that the few officers in the New 11 brigade who participated in the uprising did not really want to revolt, but still had the dream of getting promoted and getting rich.
If our army cannot capture Ningtiaoliang in time and eliminate the stubborn 2nd Regiment, then the uprising of the new 11th Brigade Headquarters and the 1st Regiment will not only be difficult to consolidate, but even unfavorable situations may occur. To this end, He Jinnian, the commander of the 3rd Police Brigade, decided to capture Ningtiaoliang as soon as possible and annihilate the 2nd Regiment.
Thrill Three: The superior telegram asked He Jinnian to cancel the battle plan
However, on the eve of the general attack on Ningtiaoliang by Brigade Commander He Jinnian and the 3rd Police Brigade, he suddenly received an urgent telegram from his superiors, pointing out that our army had attacked Ningtiaoliang in 1936, and because the city was easy to defend and difficult to attack, our army did not take the city, and this time the 3rd Police Brigade could not take Ningtiaoliang, and asked the 3rd Police Brigade to abandon the attack on Ningtiaoliang and stick to Anbian City.

What to do? He Jinnian, who was impatient, immediately held a meeting of cadres at and above the company level overnight, and after repeatedly checking various situations of combat readiness, he still decided to launch a general attack on Ningtiaoliang at dawn the next day.
Although the order for the general offensive had been issued, just 5 minutes before the general offensive was launched, the worried Brigadier General He had a telephone conversation with Guo Baoshan, the commander of the 8th Regiment who was the main attacker, and anxiously asked: "What should I do if I can't go up?" I suppressed all the telegrams from my superiors..." Commander Guo said emphatically: "I can't get in, I'll see you." ”
At exactly 4 o'clock on October 28, 1945, the 3rd Police Brigade launched a general attack on Ningtiao Liang, and after four days and four nights of deadly fighting, our army finally captured Ningtiao Liang, and the commander of the 2nd Regiment, Shi Xiaocheng, was killed on the spot, killing and capturing more than 900 enemy troops.
At this point, the thrilling new 11th Brigade battlefield uprising came to a successful end. The new 11th Brigade was also successfully reorganized, with Cao joining as brigade commander and Niu Huadong as deputy brigade commander, and Cao you later training and growing into an excellent cadre.
It is worth mentioning that when He Jinnian, the commander of the 3rd Police Brigade, returned to Yan'an, he met Secretary Liu. Secretary Liu smiled and said, "We sent a telegram, worried that you would not be able to defeat Ning Tiaoliang and offend Deng Baoshan, but in the end we still fought down, good!"
