The development of Chen Jinglun Sports School is like a documentary. In September 1956, Hangzhou Children's Amateur Sports School was established, and at the beginning of its establishment, the school only had 61 acres of land, 5 coaches, and opened 3 sports of gymnastics, athletics and basketball.
By 1960, the school was listed by the National Sports Commission as one of the ten key amateur sports schools in the country, and entered a stage of rapid development. In 1989, the Hangzhou municipal government funded the relocation of the school from the original University Road old Zhejiang University to Huanglongdong on Shuguang Road, which is now the location of Chen Jinglun Sports School, which is 33 years.
In 1993, under the sponsorship of Chen Jinglun, the school was officially renamed Hangzhou Chen Jinglun Sports School, and also began its own steps towards the "cradle of world champions". Wu Luqi recalled that at the beginning, Hangzhou Major Sports School covered an area of 60 acres, and carried out a total of 7 sports projects, because of Mr. Chen Jinglun's donation, the municipal government allocated 60 acres of land for expansion and construction.
In 1993, the second phase of construction was completed, and the sports such as table tennis, badminton, martial arts, wrestling, and swimming were also included in the sports school for training and management, so it had the current scale. At the same time, the name of the school was officially changed to Hangzhou Chen Jinglun Sports School. In 1994, with the approval of the relevant departments, the first batch of full-time physical education secondary school students were enrolled. When the sports school was completed, Mr. Chen Jinglun personally cut the ribbon for the school.
