Skateboarding competition became an official event at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games, and the athletes sent by the Chinese skateboard team at this Asian Games were all post-00 athletes, and Chen Ye won the first gold medal for the Chinese skateboard team in the competition (Olympic Games, World Championships, Asian Games). At the beginning of 2016, Chen Ye, who was less than 8 years old, became interested in the project after trying out a slide board in the mall, and strongly asked his father Chen Playqin to buy him his first skateboard. At first, Chen Playqin, who thought that the child was just a whim, did not expect that this time Chen Ye's hobby himself became a sport he insisted on for seven years, and it took only three years to enter the Guangdong skateboarding team and win the runner-up in the men's bowl pool at the 2021 National Games, when he was only 13 years old. In last year's skateboard national training team trials, Chen Ye won the first place in the men's bowl pool and qualified to represent the Chinese skateboard team in the Hangzhou Asian Games.
Chen Ye's father once said in an interview before: "I used to teach music, and I always thought that my son should be more talented in music than me, so I wanted him to learn piano when I was a child. At that time, I always wanted him to practice better, and sometimes I was too hasty, and the requirements for him would be stricter, which might backfire in the end. So later he said that he liked skateboarding, so I summed up the experience and didn't teach children so harshly, after all, I didn't understand it myself, so we groped together, studied together, watched videos, and learned skills. ”
It is precisely with such patience and his father, who grew up with Chen Ye, that Chen Ye has made rapid progress on the road of practicing skateboarding. Not only that, Chen Ye's father has built two skateparks in order to make his children practice skateboarding better, and in 2019, in order to meet his son's training conditions, Chen Yuqin rented a warehouse of more than 200 square meters in Zhongshan and designed and built a bowl pond training ground by himself. Last year, Chen built a 900-square-meter, nine-meter-high skatepark. Chen Ye's growth path is indispensable to his father. "Thank you Dad, I'll come on." Chen Ye said after winning the championship.
