Ever since Tesla Cyberruck's public debut in 2019, fans of this electric truck that looks different have been looking forward to the electric car going into production. But according to a recent report, Tesla may delay the launch of Cyberruck until 2023.

The report comes after the company made a series of changes to Cyberruck's website — first removing everything about the price and then quietly removing the truck's original planned production date. Now, according to Reuters, an unnamed source familiar with the matter said the earliest production date for the Cybertruck would only begin at the end of the first quarter of 2023.

When it was first shown, Tesla CEO Elon Musk claimed that Cybertruck would be on the market in 2021. However, in August last year, Tesla confirmed that production plans had been postponed until 2022.

Musk later said production would be again postponed until the end of 2022 and that mass production would not be possible until the end of 2023.

One reason mentioned in the report is increased competition in the field of electric trucks. Unlike its crushing situation against other competitors in the field of pure electric cars, in the field of electric pickup trucks, Tesla is in a position that is not dominant, or even backward.

Ford's F-15 "Lightning" pickup truck has already garnered unexpected market demand and has already begun plans to double production. Electric vehicle startup Rivian delivered the first R1T electric pickups last year and will ramp up production in 2022.

It is believed that Tesla may be changing cyberrock's features and features to remain competitive. The claim is similar to Stellantis' approach to its electric RAM pickups. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares previously confirmed that their yet-to-be-announced products are being adjusted as the company is studying the practices of its competitors.

Trip Chowdhry, a global equity research analyst, believes the market may have to wait longer to get more cyberruck details. He thinks Tesla will unveil the final design of the Cyber truck at a special event in March 2022.

Not only that, he thinks Tesla will launch two different versions of electric trucks, which will be "significantly tweaked" compared to the prototype.

If the report is true, customers who paid a deposit when Tesla Cyberruck first came to light would end up waiting for nearly four years of lead times, tesla is equivalent to a valuable 4-year interest-free loan.
