Man soaked his foot and almost amputated! There are diabetics at home, these 4 things are best paid attention to!

It's cold in winter, and it's a pleasure to soak up a script before going to bed. But Uncle Wang only soaked his feet, but he almost amputated his leg.

Uncle Wang is in his early seventies this year, has been suffering from diabetes for more than 20 years, usually takes medication intermittently, and his blood sugar also rises and falls.

Two weeks ago, the temperature dropped, he soaked his feet, which were quite comfortable, but after a while, his feet were swollen and white, and he found that there were several large blisters on his feet.

Uncle Wang did not take it seriously, but only did a simple treatment. However, the situation deteriorated rapidly, the wound was repeatedly infected, ulcerated, began to have a fever, followed by shock, coma, and was sent to the hospital for almost amputation.

After a wave of ghost doors, Uncle Wang went home and threw away the foot soaking basin in fright. But is that really safe?

NO! The monster of diabetes, in fact, has buried a lot of "bombs" around Uncle Wang.

In winter, I am particularly strong in combat

Winter is the season for hibernation, and many animals are hidden, but I am an exception.

I love winter because it's a season when my fighting ability skyrockets and can make my diabetics' blood sugar higher.

As for the cause of the sudden increase in energy, I once sneaked through the human knowledge base and found 3 clues.

1. When the day is cold, the human sympathetic nerve will continue to be stimulated, and then drive the secretion of "adrenaline", which will promote the rise of blood sugar;

2. When the day is cold, human appetite will become exuberant, often go out to "pick up a meal" and "make up for it", and the diet is naturally easy to get out of control;

3. When it is cold, humans will become lazy, and less exercise will make insulin's ability to control blood sugar weaker, and it is easy to gain weight.

In short, the time and place are favorable, and winter gives me the opportunity to attack diabetics more brazenly, so that their blood sugar rises faster and complications are more serious! Hahaha!

I planted two bombs

You think I'm just making my patients have a little higher blood sugar? wrong! I also secretly buried two bombs next to them.

1. Burns

As soon as it was cold, the foot wash basin, the electric heater, and the electric heater came on the field, and the corners of my mouth began to rise, and the prey was about to take the bait.

Uncle Wang was my first booty this winter, you know, many senior diabetics have the same problem with their feet, and humans call it "diabetic foot".

Diabetic foot patients are often accompanied by neuropathy, so they are not very sensitive to pain and water temperature induction [2].

This causes Uncle Wang to feel that when he soaks his feet, he will always feel that it is not hot, and he will continue to heat the water until his feet are burned.

Uncle Wang's second mistake was an error in estimating my lethality, so he didn't care at all after the burn. You know, the wounds of diabetics have been touched by me, not easy to heal, more susceptible to infection, and the longer they drag on, the more serious it is.

This time Uncle Wang escaped a disaster, did not amputate, but if he did not understand the reason behind it, continue to use warm babies, electric heaters, if you continue to be burned, you will also face the same result, then I will no longer be merciful!

2. Itching

I'm a troublemaker and give about 40% of diabetics an "itch curse" [3]. Once I hit my spell, my skin often itched, especially the waist, back, limbs are the most common, and some people's stomach and mouth will also itch.

Another feature of this "itching" is that it will become more intense in winter. Because the winter climate is dry, the skin is also more likely to be rough.

So as soon as winter comes, there will be more people who can't help it, and as soon as they start tickling, I know they're hooked. Usually, this itch can not be solved by scratching, but the more you scratch, the more itchy, until you are full of scratches and blood scabs.

At this time, the wounds that I have done will begin to toss and turn, and I will go down the old road of infection.

How can I avoid my poisonous hands?

Many people say that I am particularly hateful in winter, and I admit that it is true. However, it is not impossible to avoid my poisonous hands. Quite simply, "two noes" + "two coincidences".

Not lazy

I'm a monster, and I often wander around in the world in winter! Humans should stop being lazy!

Even if it's cold, you have to move.

Specifically, human beings have a guide specifically to deal with me - the "Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes in China (2017 Edition)" is written like this [2]:

Adults with type 2 diabetes have at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise per week (e.g., 30 minutes each time, 5 days a week).

How to judge the medium intensity, that is, a little hard when exercising, the heartbeat and breathing are fast but not urgent, common sports are: brisk walking, playing tai chi, cycling, table tennis, badminton and golf.

Or once a day to do a short period of physical activity (say 10 minutes), to be able to last 30 days, it is also very good for me to control.

Don't be gluttonous

Sincerely warn diabetics that the more critical times in winter, the more they must control their mouths!

How to eat it? I bring out an authoritative book of humanity: "Dietary Guidelines for Type 2 Diabetes in China (2017)"[4]:

1. Whole grains and miscellaneous beans should account for 1/3 of the intake of staple foods;

2. Daily vegetable intake 300-500 grams, dark vegetables account for more than 1/2, of which green leafy vegetables are not less than 70 grams;

3. If the uric acid is not high, often eat fish, shrimp, crab shellfish and poultry, livestock meat in an appropriate amount, reduce fat intake;

4. Ensure the intake of 300 grams of liquid milk or a considerable amount of dairy products per day;

5. Pay attention to less oil and less salt in cooking, adults cook 25-30 grams of cooking oil per day, and the amount of salt used does not exceed 6 grams;

6. Change the order of meals, eat vegetables first, then eat meat, and finally eat staple foods.

Wash your feet skillfully

Like Lao Wang, directly throwing away the foot wash basin is obviously due to choking and was absolutely impossible. Long-term do not wash feet, how much smell!

Diabetics wash their feet, as long as they use the right method can still wash.

1. When washing feet, the water temperature should be appropriate, below 37 ° C.

2. Test the water temperature with your hands before washing, in view of the loss of sensory function in diabetic patients, it is best to let the family help to try; the soaking time should not be too long, 5-10 minutes is more appropriate.

3. Do not rub your feet vigorously, and gently dry your feet with a clean, soft, absorbent towel after washing your feet, and do not leave any moisture in the toe slits.

4. The towel used to wipe the feet is also exquisite, preferably white, so that you can find out whether there is blood or pus in time.

Of course, in addition to washing your feet, it is best to stay away from warm babies and electric heaters and electric blankets.

Relieve itching

To avoid dry skin, moisturizing is the first step! Diabetics, whether men or women, should always prepare moisturizers and apply some at any time, especially in the more fragile places such as feet and calves, and they should be specially protected.

If after this, the skin is still itchy and unbearable, it is recommended to go to the hospital and consult a professional doctor.

I'm diabetic, I'm a monster, and if I can, I hope you'll never meet me. If you meet me, be sure to listen to the doctor and evaluate the chronic complications of diabetes on time so that the problem can be detected as soon as possible.
