laitimes

After reading the three high report sheets for so many years, you still don't know which are the real key indicators?

Many people have such a question: "The test shows that the blood lipids are not high, why did the doctor let me take medicine?!" "

Yes, the examination report clearly did not indicate that the indicators were abnormal, why did the doctor prescribe medicine?

In fact, the occurrence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases is closely related to hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia and hypertension. No arrow on the report sheet does not mean that it is completely fine, today I will simply teach you to interpret the inspection report of the three highs~

What do you think of lipid tests?

Lipid test is a more complex indicator of the three high schools, so we mainly tell you the most priority indicators:

Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) is elevated

This indicator is usually the most important for doctors. LDL-C is deposited on the walls of blood vessels to form plaques that gradually block the vessels.

Healthy people with no bad habits: this indicator above 3.4 mmol/L indicates a risk of developing hyperlipidemia, while if above 4.9 mmol/L, there is a high risk of future coronary heart disease;

People who have suffered from hypertension, diabetes or long-term smoking and obesity: the indicator is higher than 2.6mmol/L, indicating that there is a risk of coronary heart disease, and the higher the value, the greater the risk;

Patients with coronary heart disease: the index is higher than 1.7mmol/L, indicating that the risk of major events such as myocardial infarction and cerebral infarction in the future has not been effectively controlled, and the higher the value, the greater the risk.

Note: This indicator generally only prints the exception identification of the arrow in the checklist if it is higher than 3.4mmol/L. However, for coronary heart patients, as long as it is higher than 1.7mmol/L, it is considered unqualified and needs to adhere to drug therapy. So you can't just look at whether there is one or not.

Elevated high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C).

This indicator is called good cholesterol in the body. Contributes to the reduction of blood lipids and relieves the deposition of plaques in blood vessels.

The higher this indicator is a good thing, the higher it is, the lower the risk of hyperlipidemia and coronary heart disease.

High-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) is reduced

This decrease in indicator is a bad thing, especially when it is less than 1mmol/L, the risk of hyperlipidemia and coronary heart disease will increase significantly.

TC is elevated

This indicator indicates the overall level of cholesterol in the blood, for better or worse. Let's take a macro look.

3.1≤ TC < 4.1mmol/L, the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease is generally medium and low-risk, and a few cases are high-risk;

4.1≤TC < 5.2mmol/L, the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease is generally medium and low-risk, and the high-risk probability increases;

When TC ≥ 5.2mmol/L, the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases is generally medium and high-risk;

When TC ≥ 7.2 mmol/L, the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease is high risk.

Note: All the low, medium and high risk assessments mentioned in the previous paragraph are mainly related to risk factors, such as obesity, smoking, hypertension, diabetes, genetic history, and other abnormal cholesterol indicators, etc. The more the number of risk factors, the higher the degree of risk. Specifically, a doctor will need to evaluate.

What do you think of a blood glucose test?

In fact, the three highs have a mutual causal and mutual influence relationship, and high blood sugar is also an important factor in the incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

We know that long-term increases in blood sugar can gradually damage our blood vessels and nerves to the point of damaging many organs such as the heart, brain, kidneys, eyes, etc., and complications occur.

But again, it is not enough to judge the degree of danger of the disease only to see the level of blood sugar, but also to consider other indicators such as blood pressure and blood lipids, and to try to achieve the standard.

Comprehensive control goals for type 2 diabetes:

After reading the three high report sheets for so many years, you still don't know which are the real key indicators?

According to the compliance of the above indicators, the doctor will then decide whether the patient needs to take hypoglycemic drugs, what drugs to take and how many drugs to take according to the specific patient's condition, age, whether there are complications, etc.

What do you think of your blood pressure values?

To judge a person's risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and whether they should take medicine, it is not enough to see whether there are blood lipids and blood sugar reports. Blood pressure is also a very important indicator of judgment.

After reading the three high report sheets for so many years, you still don't know which are the real key indicators?

In general, the higher the progression of patients with hypertension, the greater the risk. If the merger has other risk factors, target organ damage, or comorbidities, the risk level will be multiplied.

Common risk factors

Older age, genetic family history, smoking, obesity, abnormal blood lipids or blood sugar;

Common target organ damage

Carotid artery stenosis, cardiac hypertrophy, abnormal renal function, etc.;

Common complications or comorbidities

Stroke, heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, peripheral vascular disease, etc.

The more compliances, the more dangerous it becomes:

For example, if a person's blood pressure is only grade 1 hypertension, but if diabetes is combined, then his risk is also extremely high.

As patients, we must trust the doctor's judgment, follow the doctor's advice, review it regularly, and improve our lifestyle is the best strategy for preventing and treating cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
