It is understood that China's first fully self-developed 8k AI picture quality chip released this time is the Hisense 5th generation picture quality chip, which represents the highest processing capacity of a single picture quality chip in China. The chip for the first time to achieve leapfrog development from 4K to 8K, more breakthrough AI perception image quality algorithm and other core technologies, through the equipped with artificial intelligence with "deep neural network" technology, to achieve high-precision image processing, support 33 million + megapixel accurate reconstruction, can show the rich hidden details in the picture; 26880 partition control, bringing the ultimate contrast improvement, the details and colors of the picture are closer to the truth, so that users get an immersive visual experience. After rigorous testing, the picture quality chip exceeds the performance of foreign brands in many indicators.

In August 2021, Wang Wei, vice president of Hisense Video Technology and general manager of Hisense Laser Display Co., Ltd., revealed in an interview with Jiwei Network and other media that in 2021, Hisense's first high-end 8K picture quality chip has completed FTO tape-out and is expected to be mass-produced by the end of the year.

In fact, Hisense has a long-term technical accumulation in the field of chips. As early as 2005, Hisense developed China's first digital video processing chip with independent intellectual property rights and industrialization, and has launched more than 20 picture quality chips and AI chips so far.
