Recently, we obtained the real car picture of Subaru SOLTERA from relevant channels, and the interior shape of the car is the first appearance in China. The new car, a sibling of the Toyota bZ4X, is focused on the pure electric SUV market and will be available in the summer of 2022.
In terms of exterior design, the front part of the SOLTERRA creates a very strong cross-border attribute, especially the black under-wall with silver skid plate, and the angular shape is also very wild. In addition, the SOLTERRA continues the tradition of low visual center of gravity of other SUBaru family SUV models.
The exterior dimensions of the new car are 4690 mm long, 1860 mm wide, 1650 mm high and have a wheelbase of 2850 mm. In terms of power, the 150 kW motor is matched with the front-wheel drive, and the 71.4 kWh battery corresponds to a range of 530 km; the combined power of the front and rear dual motors is 160 kW, with four-wheel drive, and the battery capacity is the same. In addition, the vehicle supports fast charging of up to 150 kW.
SOLTERRA interior design is more traditional, the T-shaped layout of each functional partition is cut apart, the control area is relatively wide, and the function adjustment buttons basically use touch control. From the picture to see the past, the gear shift mechanism was replaced by a knob, which is also the usual design method of many electric vehicles, the size of the dashboard is not large, but the information that can be displayed is very rich.
Based on the e-SUBARU GLOBAL PLATFORM platform jointly developed by Subaru and Toyota, the SOLTERRA can be efficiently applied to a wide range of EV vehicles by combining several modules and units in the front, middle, and rear of the body. In all-wheel drive models, the vehicle is equipped with an X-MODE AWD control system for enhanced handling and stability. In addition, the vehicle has added a Grip Control configuration to ensure driving performance on non-paved roads.
