On January 8th, the "Commemoration of the 985th Anniversary of Su Dongpo's Birth, the 925th Anniversary of Landing in Hainan and the Inauguration Ceremony of the 'Dongpo Book Club'" was held in Haikou. Experts and scholars from the education, press, art, social science circles and other experts and scholars in Hainan Province, as well as representatives of teachers and students, attended the discussion on how to inherit Su Dongpo's will and feelings, guide and cultivate young people to establish a healthy attitude towards life, and provide a tenacious, wise and happy life model for the future builders of the free trade port.

Li Gongyu, deputy secretary general of the China Su Shi Research Society and secretary of the Party General Branch of the Department of Social Organization History and Culture of the Hainan Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, made a report entitled "Su Dongpo's Attitude toward Life and the Cultivation of Youth's Will in the New Era", describing Su Dongpo's life attitude of taking will as the bottom line of life and taking interest as the ultimate in life, introducing Su Dongpo's excellent qualities of not being afraid of hardships, stubbornly striving, surviving with wisdom, being kind to others, and being optimistic and understanding in Hainan in the past three years, guided by the basic theory of the integration and development of Marxism and China's excellent traditional culture. Explore the educational growth laws of young people learning and inheriting China's excellent traditional culture, and guide and cultivate young people in the new era to establish a tenacious, wise and happy attitude towards life.
