After combing through the online car market, it was found that Mercedes-Benz will launch at least five new cars in China this year, including a new GLC, a mid-term redesign of the A-Class, a mid-term revamp of GLE, an EQE sedan and an EQE SUV. For consumers, the new GLC is obviously the most concerned, in addition to the new design closer to the C class, the new car will further lengthen the body size, the biggest change in power is expected to be equipped with a 1.5T engine. In addition, as Mercedes-Benz accelerates its electrification layout, the new EQE family will also be released this year, including two models: sedans and SUVs.
New GRC
According to the previous plan, the domestic GLC (code V254) will be put into operation at the Beijing Benz Yizhuang MRA plant this year, with a planned annual production capacity of 120,000 units, and the new car will be listed as soon as the second half of the year. Judging from the new GLC that is being tested overseas, the new car adopts a similar appearance and interior design to the C-class, and the sense of luxury is further enhanced, and the size of the new car will be further extended, and it is not excluded that a 7-seater model may be available. In terms of power, the new GLC is expected to be equipped with a 1.5T+48V light hybrid engine for the first time, and continue to provide 2.0T engines, and the drivetrain is matched with a 9AT transmission.
Mid-term revamp of Grade A
The mid-term revamp of the A-class will be the first to be released overseas in the first half of the year, and the domestic version is expected to be officially listed within the year. The overall change of the new car is not much, the details of the front face grille may be slightly adjusted, the front and rear bracketing shape will be more sporty, and the front and rear LED light group design is closer to the C class, the interior is expected to be consistent with the current model, the only change is reflected in the steering wheel shape. In terms of power, the mid-term revamp of the A-class will continue to use a 1.3T engine, and the transmission system will match the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Mid-term revamp of GLE
As a mid-term revamp, Mercedes-Benz GLE continues the shape of the current model, adjusting for the appearance details, the new car is equipped with a new style of double banner straight waterfall grille, the internal structure of the front and rear light groups will also be adjusted, the interior change is to replace the new shape steering wheel, and will upgrade the latest MBUX system. In terms of power, the overseas mid-term modification of GLE will continue to use 2.0T, 3.0T engine, and will launch a 2.0T plug-in hybrid model, the new car transmission system matches the 9AT gearbox, equipped with a 4MATIC four-wheel drive system, and whether the domestic 2.5T engine will be replaced by a 3.0T engine is still unknown.
EQE sedan
Based on the EVA 2.0 platform, the Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan is 4.96 meters long and has a wheelbase of 3.1 meters, and the exterior and interior are similar to the design of the new flagship sedan EQS. In terms of power, the Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 is equipped with a rear-mounted single motor, with a combined maximum power of 215 kW and a peak torque of 530 N·m, and the new car is equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 90.6 kWh, and the cruising range under WLTP conditions is 660 km. At present, the power battery used for EQE has also been trial production, and it is expected that the EQE car will be domestically produced as soon as this year.
EQE SUV
Like the EQE sedan, the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is also based on the EVA 2.0 platform, and the new car will be released in the first half of the year. The body shape of the EQE SUV is very close to the previously released Maybach EQS SUV, and the details will continue the design language of the EQ family, including closed grilles, through-line light strips, etc., which is expected to provide a very low drag coefficient like the sedan. In terms of power, the EQE SUV will provide single-motor and dual-motor models, both of which are equipped with 90kW·h battery packs, of which the single-motor model has a maximum power of 215kW, a peak torque of 530N·m, and a maximum cruising range of about 600km.
