From the outbreak of the Opium War in 1840 to 1949, it was a period of modern Chinese history, and it was also a history of humiliation full of disasters, backwardness and beatings. By July 10, 1951, negotiations began between the two sides of the war, and the Battle of Shangganling shocked the world. Two years and nine months later, on July 27, 1953, the two sides signed an armistice. Apparently, at first one thought that the crushing was wrong, and the volunteers won the victory.
The US official has given a set of data, the above announced that the number of US casualties is 172847. This is only the loss of personnel, but also the economic loss, the war cost is 40 billion US dollars, the consumption of more than 73 million tons of combat materials. Later data showed that the Volunteers destroyed a cumulative total of 2,006 tanks, 3,165 vehicles, 44 armored vehicles, 10,629 aircraft and 583 guns of various types.
No wonder the New York Times later commented that the United States fought two wars in North Korea, won North Korea, but lost to China. This war made every country see clearly the true strength of our country, and for the next two decades, the United States suffered from a kind of anti-US and aid-Korea disease, which was alleviated with the collapse of the Soviet Union.
