About the painter:

Sun Haining, born in 1958, is a native of Huai'an, Jiangsu Province, and now lives in Beijing. National first-class artist. Since childhood, he has loved fine arts, and has been a closed disciple of Mr. Qi Baishi, a master of Chinese painting. In his youth, Sun Haining studied in the Fine Arts Department of Northwest Normal University in Gansu Province. From 2010 to 2015, he studied at the National Academy of Painting of China. In 1986, he was engaged in the creation of Chinese landscapes, flowers and birds, watercolor paintings, oil paintings, calligraphy and murals in the Gansu Museum. His artistic career has been more than fifty years. He is currently a full-time painter in gao huimin studio of the National Academy of Painting of China, and was hired as a director of the China Academy of Calligraphy and Painting in 2003, and was awarded the title of Chinese powerful calligrapher and painter in October 2003, and was awarded the title of People's Outstanding Artist in November 2009. In 2016, he was hired as a full-time painter by the National Academy of Ethnic Painting, and in 2017, he was hired as the executive vice president of the Beijing Yihai Danqing Calligraphy and Painting Institute. President of Guangxi ASEAN Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, Director of Haining Art Museum, President of Rural Calligraphy and Painting Institute, Deputy Director of Langang Art Museum.
