On January 6, Su Jialiang and Zhao Yuhua, a citizen of the island city, donated the collection of physical archives of tobacco culture and two works, "Qingdao Cigarette Factory Cigarette Label Collection (1919-2006)" and "Qingdao Cigarette Factory and Cigarette Label Collection", free of charge to the Qingdao Municipal Archives. Among them, two works fill the gap in the history of the development of Qingdao Cigarette Factory and even Qingdao Tobacco Industry.
Ms. Zhao Yuhua is the former director of the Information Center of Qingdao Cigarette Factory, and Mr. Su Jialiang is the former vice chairman of the Sifang District CPPCC Committee. Su Jialiang and Zhao Yuhua collected a large number of precious tobacco culture physical archives, conducted in-depth research on the development history of Qingdao's tobacco industry for many years, and successively published two works: "Qingdao Cigarette Factory Cigarette Label Collection (1919-2006)" and "Qingdao Cigarette Factory and Cigarette Label Collection".
Su Jialiang and Zhao Yuhua donated more than 2,000 pieces of physical archives of tobacco culture. These donated products, one is more varieties, there are paper products, such as cigarette labels, cigarette advertisements, cigarette boxes, etc., there are also non-paper products, such as tobacco souvenirs and propaganda materials used as advertising. Second, it involves a wide range of cigarette factories, including those of the Qingdao Cigarette Factory and other tobacco factories; both from the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China to before the reform and opening up, as well as after the reform and opening up. Third, the donated archival materials have important historical value, they reflect the history of Various Tobacco Factories in Qingdao from different aspects, different angles and different periods, and are indispensable precious historical materials for studying the history of the development of Qingdao's tobacco industry.
The two donated works are based on cigarette labels and cigarette advertising paintings produced in different historical periods in Qingdao, showing the production and operation of Qingdao's century-old enterprise Qingdao Cigarette Factory, as well as the large and small cigarette production enterprises and cigarette products that have appeared in Qingdao's history with rich and detailed physical pictures and in-depth research and excavation of the stories behind the physical objects.
Su Jialiang and Zhao Yuhua donated physical archives of tobacco culture and two works, which not only enriched the collection of Qingdao Municipal Archives, but also had great significance for studying the history of Qingdao's century-old industrial and commercial development, especially the history of Qingdao tobacco industry.
While keeping the donated archives, qingdao municipal archives will also conduct in-depth cooperation with Su Jialiang and Zhao Yuhua to jointly study the history of the development of Qingdao's tobacco industry and help the ongoing industrial and commercial exhibition center project.
Qingdao Municipal Archives is a national first-class archive and a provincial special-level archive, and has been awarded the titles of the first batch of national primary and secondary school archives education social practice base, national civilized post, provincial spiritual civilization unit, municipal service brand and so on.
Qingdao Municipal Archives Main Building is located at No. 148 Yanji Road, with a main construction area of 20,000 square meters. Qingdao Municipal Archives Industrial and Commercial Museum is located in the West Coast New Area, with a construction area of 26,000 square meters, which is the first centralized storage and utilization base for industrial and commercial archives in the province. The total number of archival materials in the collection of Qingdao Municipal Archives is 1.883 million volumes (pieces and volumes), and the scale of collections ranks among the top of similar cities in China.
In recent years, Qingdao Municipal Archives has firmly implemented the new development concept, accelerated the construction of the "four systems" of archive governance, archival resources, archival utilization, and archival security, and made great progress in various work. The construction of archive informatization is leading in the country, and it is the first digital archive and demonstration digital archive in the country, and it is the first in the country to start the construction of smart archives. With all prefectures and cities in the province, 22 other provinces and cities archives to achieve cross-library linkage of people's livelihood archives. Since 2017, it has published 22 kinds of archival historical materials, held 19 special exhibitions, filmed 6 blue and red trilogy series of archival micro-films, and won 33 domestic and foreign awards such as the second-class excellent works of the central propaganda department's socialist core values theme micro-films.
