The much-publicized case of Jiang Ge's mother, Jiang Qiulian, v. Liu Nuanxi (formerly known as Liu Xin) has made new progress in the dispute over the right to life, body and health. Red Star News learned from Jiang Qiulian and her lawyer, Huang Leping, that the verdict will be pronounced at 9 a.m. on January 10. Previously, on December 30, 2021, Jiang Qiulian had been notified by the court that due to the unwell health of the presiding judge, the trial was temporarily cancelled, and the specific hearing time was notified separately.

On December 31, 2021, Jiang Qiulian informed the Red Star News reporter that she felt very aggrieved when she learned that the first-instance judgment was temporarily cancelled, "I specially ordered flowers yesterday, went to see my daughter, and made a commitment to my daughter." "She felt that she had lost her faith in her daughter.

On the morning of January 4, Jiang Qiulian told Red Star News that her mood was still not calm when she learned that the case had been heard. "I told my daughter at the first time that although I didn't know the specific physical condition of the presiding judge, I believed that she had basically recovered."

Red Star News previously reported that in November 2016, Jiang Ge was killed outside his residence in Tokyo, Japan, by Liu Xin (now known as Liu Nuanxi), an ex-boyfriend Chen Shifeng, at the age of 24. At that time, Liu Xin was in a residence across the door. On December 20, 2017, the Tokyo District Court rendered a first-instance judgment on the murder of Jiang Ge in Tokyo, ruling that defendant Chen Shifeng was convicted of intentional homicide, convicted of threats, and sentenced to 20 years' imprisonment.

In 2019, Jiang Qiulian submitted a complaint against Liu Xin to the Chengyang District People's Court in Qingdao, Shandong. On March 29, 2020, the Chengyang District People's Court of Qingdao, Shandong Province, issued an announcement that the court accepted the plaintiff Jiang Qiulian v. Liu Xin's right to life dispute, and served Liu Xin with a summons for trial and other documents in accordance with the law.

On April 15, 2021, a public hearing was held at the Chengyang District People's Court in Qingdao, Shandong Province. The court adjourned the court and pronounced the verdict at a later date.

On December 27, Huang Leping, a lawyer entrusted by Jiang Ge's mother, Jiang Qiulian, received a summons from the court and learned that at 9 a.m. on December 31, the court would pronounce judgment on Jiang Qiulian v. Liu Xin over the dispute over the right to life, body and health. At about 9 p.m. on December 30, Jiang Qiulian and her lawyer, Huang Leping, received an oral notice from the court that the presiding judge was unwell and would cancel the morning session on December 31, which had previously been summonsed.
