In 2021, the new energy automobile industry has been affected by interference factors such as lack of cores and power rationing, so that many car companies have been greatly affected, in this context, BYD's automobile sales have still achieved leapfrog growth, from the beginning of the year for ten consecutive months of sales increased, successively set their own sales records.

Not only that, but what is more noteworthy is that driven by the hot sales of flagship models such as Han and Tang, the unit price of BYD passenger cars exceeded 150,000 yuan in 2021, ranking first among independent brands.

With a cumulative sales volume of nearly 600,000 units in 2021, BYD has not only raised the Chinese record previously set by itself to a new height of 2.4 times, but is also expected to top the annual sales champion of China's new energy passenger cars for the ninth time, further consolidating its position as an industry leader.

In terms of sales segmentation, BYD's new energy passenger car sales showed a trend of EV pure electricity and DM hybrid "two legs, walking in tandem". In 2021, BYD EV pure electric models sold 320,810 units, an increase of 144.9% year-on-year, and DM hybrid models sold 272,935 units, an increase of 467.6% year-on-year. With the support of core technologies such as blade battery, DM-i super hybrid and e-platform 3.0, BYD has further consolidated its position in the field of pure electricity while its hybrid models have entered the hinterland of fuel vehicles.

Specific to the model, the Han series sold 13,701 units in the first strong way, and the cumulative sales of more than 117,000 units in the whole year. It ranks first in the sales volume of medium and large cars of Chinese brands. As a mid-to-high-end model with an average transaction price of more than 250,000, BYD Han has become the only medium- and large-sized sedan of Chinese brands in the domestic auto market that can compete head-on with BBA.

Another of BYD's flagship models, the Don, also performed well, selling 9,000 units in December, nearly doubling year-on-year; during the year, Don recorded sales of 54,204 units, demonstrating its strong product strength. As a representative model of BYD's core technology landing, Tang has comprehensively subverted the 200,000-class SUV market. As of November 2021, Tang DM has entered the TOP3 ranks of more than 200,000 new energy SUVs for five consecutive months.

Since its launch in March 2021, Qin PLUS has continued to sell nearly 170,000 units. In December, Qin PLUS DM-i and Qin PLUS EV sold 17,286 and 7,001 vehicles respectively, helping the Qin family to sell 25,943 vehicles. In the A-segment sedan, China's largest and most competitive segment for passenger cars, BYD Qin is expected to consolidate its position in the top three of the sales list.

Song sold 22,386 units in December, and after the gradual release of production capacity, Song DM achieved sales of 15,120 units in December, up 1650% year-on-year. In 2021, the cumulative sales of Song family models exceeded 200,000 units, challenging the joint venture SUVs of the same level.

In addition, as the first mass-produced model of e-platform 3.0 and the first model under BYD's marine network system, Dolphin's sales exceeded 10,016 units for the first time in December.

Judging from the overall sales volume and sales of models in various segments, BYD has drawn a perfect end to its 2021 with excellent results. In 2022, BYD's production capacity will be further increased, more models based on e-platform 3.0 will be listed one after another, and ocean networks will also be rolled out, which will help BYD's sales to a higher level.
