As the manufacturer of this "god car", the Weidian new energy automobile community once dismantled it into a three-phase horizontal version video, explaining the modification process in detail for everyone.

This is the appearance of Han EV just arrived at the offline construction store of Weidian Space Station, the vehicle is a long endurance version of the Premium model, NEDC cruising range of 605km, equipped with 163kW front motor, 100 km acceleration of 7.9 seconds.
The first step in the construction was a complete "empty sweep" of the vehicle, in which all seats, door panels and electronic equipment were disassembled, leaving only an empty shell.
The preliminary work is ready, and the next step is the most exciting "cutting the top" link. I have to say that BYD uses real materials, the cutting work is not as easy as it sounds, and it takes a lot of energy to cut the roof smoothly.
At this point, if we follow the modification method of the vast majority of domestic exhibition-used convertibles, this car has been modified 80% - but the Weidian space station will never allow us to modify the Han EV is just a sample of goods, and we also want to build it into an electric hard-top convertible that is close to the level of mass production cars.
The production of the hard-top convertible is one of the most difficult processes in the modification of the whole vehicle, if the upper body of other ready-made models is fully transplanted and then spliced, the construction difficulty can be greatly reduced, but the disadvantage is that the closed state of the open-top will be extremely uncoordinated. What's more, with the length of the Han EV car 4980mm, it is almost impossible to fully graft the roof of other models.
In order to retain the data on the width of the original roof, we decided to handcraft the roof of the hard-top convertible: the roof is divided into three pieces for easy storage in the tail box, each of which is hand-hammered by sheet metal process, and finally customized to create a suitably sized steel plate.
The connection process between the steel plate and the steel plate is more complicated, after connecting each steel plate, it is necessary to reset the locking mechanism to repeatedly locate, and constantly adjust until it can achieve a tight seam, and can achieve a perfect and no stuttering opening and closing.
The interface between the front windshield and the convertible is the most difficult part of the entire open-top structure, and the error at this place cannot exceed millimeters, otherwise the contact will not be activated when the electric closure is turned off, which is equivalent to the failure of the open-top action.
Since the open-top hard top divided into three pieces is to be stored in the rear tail box, the overall structure of the rear tail box must also be transformed. The first is to open the direction to adjust the original car, at this time the function of the trunk is no longer to load and unload luggage from the back of the car, but to open the front side to store the hard top.
We redesigned the tail box cover and knocked out the right size steel plate by hand sheet metal, and in order to achieve the support of the original car, the reinforcement is indispensable.
The mechanical part of the convertible is successfully concluded, followed by the electronically controlled part. After countless days and nights of hard work, Weidian's small partner finally programmed the program by himself, a button can achieve all the opening and closing instructions, we embedded it under the central armrest of the original car, next to the emergency moment to use a key emergency stop button.
Double row four-door to single row two-door coupe, if only with putty to block the back door, then the final form will be very embarrassing. We moved the B-pillar cut back (the original B-pillar cutting part had been repaired with steel plates of sufficient strength for safety) and the front doors were extended to create a more elegant curve, and the single-door design was very coordinated at this moment.
In a small episode, our early design version planned to change it to scissor door style, but eventually the conventional method was restored after discussion.
Since it is a convertible, a borderless door is a must. In terms of construction operations, this modification is not too difficult, the most tricky is the supply of materials - custom frameless glass is not expensive, but the time is long, in order to deliver the vehicle before the event, we selected other models of glass to replace, but the glass data is obviously unable to match, so we customized a piece of decorative parts in the A pillar as a connection.
The exterior part has been completed at this point, and the interior has been built.
Compared to the hardcore convertible, the interior seems to be relatively simple, but the actual execution difficulty is also called "hellish". Almost all the parts of the original car have been "magic modified", such as the length of the front door becomes longer, and the interior door panels must be customized and tailored; the hard-top convertible and the tail box cover cannot be wrapped in the conventional way, and the excessive load will cause the convertible mechanism to be unable to support, and all the packages must be lightweight; the docking point between the front windshield and the convertible as mentioned earlier, the slightest carelessness in the wrapping will destroy the interface.
In the early planning, we planned to re-wrap the interior with light colors, and the Han EV provided by the manufacturer happened to be a shallow interior test car, and the seat part did not have to be time-consuming, which greatly saved the construction time. There is no door for the rear seat to get on and off, so we customized a set of wrap-around rear seats, and the pillows placed are also embroidered with the "only electricity" logo.
Finally, the last thing is to change into a "new outfit" for this weather-beaten Han EV. The whole vehicle is almost like a face change after attaching the "Dream Rouge Powder" color change film, which is characterized by a fantastic gradient effect under different lights. Some of the deeper indentations of the vehicle are not convenient for filming, so before applying the film, we spray a primer of similar colors in advance, whether it is when opening and closing the door or opening and closing the open roof, it will not cause abruptness due to different colors.
