Although Huang Chao and Li Zicheng and others were powerful and briefly attacked Chang'an and Beijing, they failed in the end, mostly because of the lack of politically far-sighted people in the peasant army, who were often suppressed because of tactical mistakes. Huang Chao was isolated for killing Confucians indiscriminately, and Li Zicheng was disgraced by not allowing Li Yan.
Compared with these people, Zhu Yuanzhang was an exception, he started from Guo Zixing's pro-soldiers, after decades of struggle, he defeated Chen Youyi and Zhang Shicheng and others, and finally overthrew the brutal Yuan Dynasty and established Daming. Zhu Yuanzhang's success is inseparable from the advice of the think tanks around him, and when it comes to these strategists, people first think of the famous Li Shanchang and Liu Bowen and others, who often habitually ignore Zhu Sheng. For Zhu Sheng, this is actually very unfair, because his help to Zhu Yuanzhang is no less than that of Liu Bowen and Li Shanchang and others.
Zhu Sheng, a native of Xiuning County, Anhui Province, made a living as a teacher in his early years, and in order to subsidize his family, he also worked part-time as a feng shui gentleman. Nearly 50 years old to pass the entrance examination, and then served as a Chizhou Lu Xuezheng for 3 years, because of dissatisfaction with the official corruption at that time, abandoned the official and returned to his hometown, while studying the current situation, while writing books and sayings, gradually became famous, and was called Dacai by the locals. In 1358, when Zhu Yuanzhang attacked Wuyuan, he heard that Zhu Sheng lived nearby, so he brought people to visit and asked him to come out of the mountains to assist him.
After Zhu ascended out of the mountain, the first suggestion to Zhu Yuanzhang was to "build a high wall, accumulate grain, and slowly become king", which was a short 9 words that became the key to Zhu Yuanzhang's final victory. "Building high walls and accumulating grain" gave Zhu Yuanzhang a solid base in Jinling and was in a favorable position to attack and retreat. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, Li Zicheng suffered a loss and ate on a land without a stable base, so he was defeated and could not be harvested. "Slowly becoming king" allowed the Yuan Dynasty to relax its blows on Zhu Yuanzhang, which won him a rare opportunity for development.
After that, Zhu Sheng gave Zhu Yuanzhang a lot of tricks and made a lot of contributions to the establishment of the Ming Dynasty. Zhu Yuanzhang was called empress dowager, and everyone was very happy, but Zhu Sheng saw the crisis from it. He believes that Zhu Yuanzhang is a person who can share hardships but cannot be rich and noble, such as today's peace, when it comes to "cunning rabbit dead running dog cooking", it is very dangerous to stay by Zhu Yuanzhang's side. So on the grounds of old age and frailty, he repeatedly asked Zhu Yuanzhang to return to his hometown for the elderly, and finally Zhu Yuanzhang approved his request. In 1370, Zhu Sheng died of illness in his hometown at the age of 72, and he became one of the few founding heroes who could die well.
