The second was to order that concubines and Empress Yi'an commit suicide and not destroy the imperial grandfather's state system;
The third is to tell the three sons to escape, let them first find a way to escape, if they can survive, remember to avenge themselves; in addition, they also want to personally end the life of their daughter Princess Changping, so as not to fall into the hands of the enemy.
After saying this, Chongzhen returned to Kunning Palace and saw that Empress Zhou had hanged herself, and couldn't help but say "good"! Then he said, "If Li Zicheng can release the people of Yuan, he will dispose of his body at will!" ”
In the second half of the night on March 18, 1644, Chongzhen and the eunuch Wang Cheng'en came to Coal Mountain (Jingshan) and hanged themselves under a large tree near the Shouxing Pavilion.
