The Nanchang Uprising fired the first shot of armed resistance against the Kuomintang reactionaries, unveiled the prelude to the Party's independent leadership of the armed struggle and the creation of a revolutionary army, and announced the birth of the first revolutionary armed forces, which is known as the place where the military flag was raised, and the uprising time was August 1, 1927, so August 1 of every year is the Founding Day.
At that time, according to the arrangement of the uprising, the Twentieth Army participating in the uprising was responsible for attacking the enemy's general headquarters, that is, the former envoy Si Yamen (now the Jiangxi Provincial Song and Dance Theater) located in Nanchang Zhangjiangmen, and the headquarters of the Twentieth Army happened to be in the Christian Chinese Anglican Church Zhidao Hall, across the enemy's general headquarters from a west street (now Zigu Road).
According to the original plan, as soon as the time came, the problem would be solved as soon as the enemy's general headquarters was surrounded, but at dusk that day, there were traitors who informed the enemy, the enemy made preparations in advance, planning to escape, and more than a hundred people who came out to explore the way wanted to sneak out through the back door, and seeing that the Twentieth Army was very well guarded, there were teams moving everywhere, and the password was non-stop, so they went back to lay out the fortifications and hold on.
Faced with this situation, He Jinzhai, commander of the First Division of the Twentieth Army, who was responsible for attacking the fortifications, decided to act ahead of time, so in the early hours of the morning, it was convenient for the enemy to exchange fire. Master He gave an order and shouted, "Rush! The trumpeter blew his charge, "Brothers, come with me!" "Suddenly the line directly attacked the enemy general headquarters, a row of grenades flew out, machine guns and rifles opened fire together, the enemy gate immediately formed a barrier of smoke, the soldiers got up from the ground, and rushed into the enemy general headquarters together, frightening the enemy to panic, turned their heads and fled, six machine guns were suppressed by the rebel army five and a half, only one machine gun barrel was carried away by the enemy.
The rebels finally captured the enemy's general headquarters shortly afterwards, and such a well-equipped guard regiment, most of whom were taken prisoner, only a few enemies slipped through the back door. At this time, as soon as the gunshots rang out, the rebels everywhere thought that the time had come, and they all launched an attack in advance. Division commander He Jinzhai was the first shot to start the Nanchang Uprising.
He Jinzhai was born on February 4, 1901 in Hongjiaguan, Sangzhi County, Hunan Province, to a poor teacher family. When he was young, he loved literature and was good at poetry. In the autumn of 1919, in the He Long army, he studied military technology assiduously, seized the time to read newspapers and magazines, and often expressed his feelings with poetry.
He Jinzhai followed He Long on his southern expedition to the north, and in that year, He Jinzhai took the lead in attacking Lixian County, but several strong attacks were not captured, so he changed his strategy. He Jinzhai led several warriors disguised as fish sellers into the city and figured out the enemy's arrangement. In the night, he personally led more than 100 people, blew up the enemy fortifications, conquered Li County, and captured the enemy commander.
Due to his outstanding military achievements, when He Longbu was reorganized into the Twentieth Army of the National Revolutionary Army in Wuhan, He Jinzhai was promoted to the commander of the First Division, at the age of 27, one of the youngest division commanders in the National Revolutionary Army, and his entourage set out from Wuhan, along the Yangtze River to the east of the Jiujiang River, and then arrived in Nanchang, participated in the famous Nanchang Uprising, and fired the first shot.
After the defeat of the Nanchang Uprising, He Jinzhai reorganized the revolutionary armed forces with He Long, and the Xiang'e Border Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army was reorganized into the Fourth Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army, with He Long as the commander, the first division under his command as the main force of the Red Fourth Army, and He Jinzhai as the commander of the division. In early September 1928, He Jinzhai led his troops to the east with He Longhuai, arrived at Shimen, actively supported the local revolutionary struggle, and attacked the regimental defense armed forces and tax authorities around Dayan Block and Wangjiachang in Lixian County, dealing a heavy blow to the enemy.
At this time, due to the betrayal of traitors, the main force of the Red Army was surrounded and attacked by Li Yunjie, the instructor of the enemy's Fourteenth Army, and many regimental defense forces, with more than 100 casualties. Huang Ao, chief of staff of the army, died heroically. At this critical moment, He Jinzhai led his troops to fight bravely, rushed out of the siege, and retreated to the mud and sand area. At dawn on September 9, the enemy's encirclement and blockade intensified, and He Jinzhai led the guard battalion and pistol company to cover the breakthrough of the main force led by He Long. During the battle, He Jinzhai was unfortunately shot and died heroically, at the age of 27. He practiced his iron oath of "I will hand over my body to my party" and "swear to destroy the jackal for the people".
After He Jinzhai was sacrificed, his comrades-in-arms carried him back to his hometown for burial, and his newly married wife, Dai Guixiang, who had only been married for three months, was washing clothes by the Yuquan River that day, when suddenly, several Red Army soldiers came to her carrying a coffin. She had an ominous premonition, only to hear the warrior say, "Sister-in-law, we didn't protect well..." Hearing this, Dai Guixiang suddenly collapsed in the water.
After crying, Dai Guixiang wiped away the tears and straightened his waist. She said to herself: I can't fall, I still have to help my husband honor my parents, I also want to sing the song left by my husband, I want to fight against fate! This year, Dai Guixiang was 26 years old.
The song written by the husband to his wife is "Ma Mulberry Trees Build a Lampstand" written when her husband went to the front line to leave: "Ma Mulberry Trees set up a lampstand, wrote a letter to my sister to bring, Lang went to be a soldier sister at home, I did not come back for three or five years, you moved flowers elsewhere; Lang went to be a soldier sister at home, you did not come to me for a year, you did not come to me for two years, and the key could not be unlocked." ”
From then on, Dai Guixiang sang at home, outside, among the women who stayed behind in their homes, and among the masses. For a time, this song became a household name, not only everyone could sing it, but also inspired more Sang Zhi's sons and daughters to join the ranks of the Red Army. In 1935, when the Red Second Front set out from the Long March of Sangzhi Liujiaping, the song "Ma Mulberry Tree Erecting a Lampstand" echoed for a long time above the team and on the way to the march, and this song was 68 years.
This tear-jerking folk song accompanied Dai Guixiang through countless long nights of misery and loneliness. Every word, every sentence, she repeated over and over again, remembered in her heart, into the blood.
In his later years, Dai Guixiang always had to sit in front of her husband's grave for a few hours every day, holding a few pieces of Masan leaves in his hand, and accompanied him to quietly chant "Masang Trees Build a Lampstand".
