After the end of the war, he could not be rehabilitated due to lack of information, and finally missed his life with the person he loved, and after 43 years, he waited for the certificate of rehabilitation but chose to commit suicide.
Guan Lu's original name was Hu Shoulin, and he was born in July 1907 in Shanxi Province. From 1927 to 1928, the self-taught Guan Lu studied at the Shanghai Law School and the Literature Department of Nanjing Central University.
Her hometown, the first short story released in 1930, made him a popular female poet in Shanghai. Among them, "The Song of the Pacific" has been sung by countless people, and he has also been named one of the four talented women of the Republic of China, at this time Guan Lu has a bright future, but a mission has changed her life in the future.
As a progressive youth in Shanghai, after the September 18 Incident, Guan Lu joined the Shanghai Women's Anti-Japanese and Anti-Imperialist Grand Alliance. In 1932, he joined the Communist Party of China and became an important member of our party in the Shanghai area. After occupying Shanghai in 1939, the Japanese supported Wang Jingwei to establish the Wang Wei regime, and Li Shiqun, as the head of the secret service of the Wang Wei regime, was an important target for our party at that time.
In order to find out his true ideological situation, the CCP decided to send Guan Lu into Wang Wei's regime. Some people may say, why would a female writer with no experience in fighting behind enemy lines be chosen to carry out this task? It turned out that Guan Lu's sister had once saved Li Shiqun's wife, and with this layer of relationship, she could better carry out this mission.
As Guan Lu entered the Wang puppet government, she also changed from an anti-Japanese female writer who everyone praised to a traitor that everyone shouted and beat, and it was precisely in this way that the suspicion of the Wang puppet government about her was dispelled. Soon, under her communication, Li Shiqun was instigated by the Communist Party of China to rebel, and in the continuous contacts with our party, our party obtained first-hand information behind the enemy lines and made outstanding contributions to the great cause of the anti-Japanese resistance in the future. The success of this mission also made the organization more trusting of Guan Lu. Soon she was given a new assignment.
After Japan attacked China, it strictly controlled all newspapers on the market, and a large number of anti-Japanese articles could not be published, and the Japanese tried to break the fighting spirit of the Chinese people through public opinion guidance. In order to solve this problem, Guan Lu accepted the instructions of our party to infiltrate the "Female Voice" magazine jointly founded by the Japanese Consulate General in Shanghai and the Japanese Marine Corps, and served as the editor-in-chief of the magazine.
It is precisely because of this level of identity that many progressive articles of our Party were cleverly published in Japanese newspapers, and these cleverly handled articles brought great help to the anti-Japanese resistance, and more and more aspiring young people learned about our Party through these articles and chose to go to the Yan'an area to resist Japan.
But for ordinary people, they don't understand, only know that Guan Lu is a notorious cultural traitor, and this change of identity has also brought great trouble to Guan Lu.
Not only did she have to endure the unwarranted insults of the Chinese people, but she was mentally and psychologically tortured, and her former friends also sent letters of renunciation one by one, as if to have this enemy who did not share the heavens forever. More crucially, no one can understand her, and she can't tell anyone who she is. Even in the face of his lover Wang Bingnan, he can only communicate through letters, and he must always prevent the exposure of his identity. In the face of such pressure, she also thought about giving up, but in the end she chose to persevere, because she knew that as long as the war was won, it would all be over.
Time flew by, and at the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1945, Guan Lu thought that her identity could be rehabilitated, and she could be with her lover in an open and honest manner. At this time, Heaven made a big joke with her, because the secrecy work of that year was so good, there were very few comrades and documents that could prove her identity. Coupled with the sacrifices made during the anti-Japanese period, in the end, no comrade could prove her identity.
Although some comrades knew about her situation and knew that Guan Lu was an undercover agent of my party, there was no actual evidence to prove her identity. Guan Lu thus became a wanted criminal by the Chongqing Nationalist government, and she could only flee under the protection of her comrades. More crucially, because her traitor status cannot be effectively explained, her former lover Wang Bingnan has no way to be with him.
At that time, Wang Bingnan was already a senior cadre of our party, and considering the political influence, he naturally could not live with a person who was suspected of being a traitor. Since the two met and fell in love in 1937, they have always been each other's spiritual support, and the reason why Guan Lu was able to carry out such a dangerous mission behind enemy lines and finally chose to persevere was largely because of Wang Bingnan's support and concern. However, due to the pressure of the organization and the consideration of the actual situation, Wang Bingnan finally wrote a letter of absolute love to Guan Lu, and two people who loved and knew each other could not walk together, which was not a tragedy?
Perhaps from the moment Wang Bingnan wrote the letter, Guan Lu's heart was dead, and she had lost hope for her future life. Even after the founding of New China, the party organization still had no way to effectively prove herself, although she wanted to write articles in the newspaper again and again to prove herself, but the two words Guan Lu had been explicitly prohibited.
However, her miserable life was not over, in 1955 Guan Lu's former superior Comrade Pan Hannian was arrested and imprisoned for being treated wrongly, and the 49-year-old Guan Lu was also implicated and imprisoned for two years. Perhaps it was also this prison life that changed Guan Lu's thinking, because the inability to prove her identity made it impossible for her to prove her value, and her life goal became to prove her identity. In 1967, the country was plunged into unprecedented turmoil, and Guan Lu was once again arrested and imprisoned for her status as a traitor, and she was 71 years old when she was released from prison.
And this blow after blow also brought unprecedented damage to her body, and her two arrests and imprisonment caused her to suffer from severe schizophrenia, often looking outside alone in a daze, and being forced to write confessions when she was slightly conscious. But for the former hero, she did not do anything to apologize to the country and the people, what kind of confession materials can she write?
Guan Lu, who was re-released in 1977, had lost her ability to take care of herself by this time, and in May 1980, she was admitted to the hospital for a sudden cerebral thrombosis. At this point, she couldn't even pick up a pen, and the only belief that sustained her life might be to prove her identity.
Heaven finally gave this hero a chance, and in 1982, after many reviews and verifications, the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee finally proved the identity of Guan Lu's former comrade Pan Hannian. With the suspicion of Comrade Pan Hannian being cleared, Guan Lu's identity has finally made practical progress.
After receiving valid proof, the Organization Department of the Cpc Central Committee first announced Guan Lu's identity in March 1982, and people now understand what kind of difficulties this hero has experienced over the years. Since entering the Wang puppet government in 1939, he has borne the infamy of 43 years, not only losing his friends, but also losing his lover. A few days after proving his identity, Guan Lu committed suicide by taking medicine, and among his relics, in addition to a plastic doll, was a photo of his former lover Wang Bingnan.
In honor of the hero, the Ministry of Culture held a solemn funeral for her, and his body was moved to Babaoshan Cemetery. At his funeral, people also saw Wang Bingnan, for Wang Bingnan, Guan Lu was the woman he once loved, but under the pressure of reality, they could not come together, which is also the regret of their lives.
If Guan Lu is given another chance, I wonder if this heroine will choose to enter the Wang Wei regime? Even if it will make his life criticized and lose the person he loves. I am afraid that no one knows, and for us in peacetime, the hero's past should not be buried. I hope that more people in the future can learn about the life of this red agent, which is also the greatest affirmation of her life's credit.
