When the country is in danger, what will we give to the land that nurtures itself? Is it the fearlessness of spilling blood on the head or the tenacity of preferring to die. In the long river of history, there are countless revolutionaries who have proved their loyalty and love for the motherland with actions, however, not all of them can get applause and flowers, and those heroes who walk in the darkness may not be able to get out of the darkness from beginning to end.
Talented woman or traitor?
Guan Lu, a female writer originally named Hu Shoulin, is a hero who walks alone in the dark. She was one of the most talented women in the Republic of China period, and after graduating from the Chinese Department of Nanjing Central University at the age of 21, she began to create, whether it is poetry, prose or novels, it is beautifully written and the words are timeless. At one time, together with Pan Liudai, Zhang Ailing, and Su Qing, she was known as the "Four Talented Women".
However, Guan Lu is not a young girl writer who is fascinated by the "Mandarin Duck Butterfly School" literature, and at a young age, she was full of ambitions to serve the country, and joined the Left Writers Union in the fourth year after graduation. At that time, the three northeastern provinces of our country had been swallowed up by Japanese imperialism, and the mood of the entire nation to resist Japan and save the country had become more and more intense; in the face of the fierceness of the Japanese Kou and the weakness and flattery of some of the Chinese people, she used her pen as a knife and fought back bitterly.
"I'd rather fight and die for the motherland than be a surviving nation!" This impassioned verse came from the patriotic writer, and in addition to translating many foreign works to encourage intellectuals, such as Gorky's Haiyan. Moreover, our well-known singing segment "A Hundred Flowers in Spring" is also from her pen, this "Spring", for the people who are in the midst of war, bring warmth and hope, so that they have confidence in the future.
Therefore, Guan Lu was recognized as a patriotic writer at that time, so when she suddenly disappeared in 1939, when the War of Resistance Against Japan was struggling, many people who cared about her thought that she was persecuted by the Japanese. Logically, her reappearance should delight everyone, but the truth is very different.
Because Guan Lu, who once again appeared in front of the public eye, had already turned to the traitor Wang Jingwei, she was originally dressed in simple clothes, with heavy makeup, and spent all day seeking pleasure with the female relatives of high-ranking officials and eunuchs, and she had become a "traitor".
The hero behind the scenes
This 180° identity transformation must be followed by an indescribable secret, and in fact it is. Prior to this, the patriotic young man Guan Lu had joined the Communist Party and became a secret party member, and she defected to the Wang Jingwei regime, also to carry out the tasks given by the organization.
This heavy responsibility will be entrusted to Guan Lu, not only because she is very thoughtful and lively, but also because her sister once intersected with Li Shiqun, the head of the secret service in the Wang puppet regime. Guan Lu's sister Hu Xiufeng helped take care of his pregnant wife when Li Shiqun was in prison, so Li Shiqun was grateful to the Hu family sisters, and Guan Lu successfully entered the core of the Wang puppet government by virtue of this relationship.
In Guan Lu's mission, the core character is Li Shiqun. The reason why this famous wall grass serves the Wang puppet government is only for profit, not faithful, and with a little persuasion, it can leave out a lot of information that is useful to us. With the intelligence lines of Guan Lu and Li Shiqun, the pressure on our army to resist the Japanese Kou was also greatly reduced.
Later, Guan Lu received many tasks from within the organization, one of which was to serve as the editor of the journal "Female Voice" published by the Japanese Embassy. She used her editorial position to delete and revise the content of the Japanese invaders beautifying militarism, added words calling for peace against war, and single-handedly awakened many patriotic young people.
But it was precisely because of her status as a talented woman, her work was done seamlessly, the Japanese were extremely trusted, and she was sent to the Japanese Writers' Congress, and the message of her "traitor" was spread all over the country. Her former friends scorned her, and people in the organization who didn't know her well also looked at her coldly. She, the hero of the darkness, has lost too much, but fortunately, there is one person who has been guarding her, and that is her lover Wang Bingnan.
It is difficult to have a lover to become a family member
Guan Lu and Wang Bingnan knew each other because of their work, and when they first met, they had a good feeling for each other, and Wang Bingnan left a photo and a love sentence for Guan Lu when he left Shanghai.
"You care about me for a while, I care about you for a lifetime." What a sweet romantic promise. At that time, they were all looking forward to the end of the War of Resistance, and at that time, Guan Lu would be able to get out of the darkness, and Wang Bingnan could also open this love in front of the world, but the luck of the times broke up the two people who loved each other.
After the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1945, but the flames of war subsided, hatred persisted, and Guan Lu's reputation was difficult to wash away. Although she returned to the Liberated Areas, because the object of contact was the Wang puppet government, she could not clarify her identity for the time being. The pen name Guan Lu, who has been used, has also been sealed, a delicate and rich female writer, whose emotions cannot be vented, and the only thing she relies on is her lover.
Moreover, the content of Wang Bingnan's work at this time was mainly in foreign affairs, and if he rushed to combine with Guan Lu, it would inevitably bring a bad reputation to the organization. In order to organize, but also in order not to delay Guan Lu, he helplessly became a "negative person", a letter of renunciation made Guan Lu's heart completely cold as frost, after that, she never loved anyone again.
The second half of his turbulent life
After the founding of New China, Guan Lu's life had a short upturn, but the good times were not long, and in 1955, because of the involvement of her former superiors, she was imprisoned, and it was two years after a while. Later, during the special period, she suffered another prison sentence, and this time for a full 8 years.
After 8 years of closed window career, Guan Lu is already a 68-year-old man, and she can no longer find the agility and beauty of a talented woman on her face, and the whole person seems to have lost her soul. Her body and mind were devastated by her prison life. After leaving the prison, what awaited her was only a small room of ten square meters, which was still filled with loneliness.
Perhaps at this time, the driving force that supports Guan Lu's survival is that her identity can be made public, so in 1982, the 43rd year when she was considered a "traitor", when the organization issued a report that she was wronged, she no longer lingered on the lonely world and committed suicide at the end of the year.
Guan Lu, who was 75 years old at the time, had no family around him, and there was only a large plastic doll in the broken room, and a photo of Wang Bingnan. She wrote such a sentence behind the photo of her lover that she never forgot: A ghost dream is close to whoever is close, and the lover of eternity is alone.
Not being able to stay with his lover is a regret in Guan Lu's life and a regret for Wang Bingnan. However, at Guan Lu's memorial service, Wang Bingnan, whose sideburns were white and no longer heroic, appeared. He could not accompany her, but at this last moment, he could send her, who had been living in darkness, to the long-awaited light zone.
