Happy New Year, dear visitors!
Recently, another new car under Polar star automobile has been exposed, which is pole star 5. It will be a sneakback pure electric sports car, the design of the car inspired by the Precept concept car, is expected to be officially launched in 2024, after the listing will be a challenge to Porsche, Tesla.

The Polestar Concept was unveiled earlier than the Geneva Motor Show in February 2020, but due to the epidemic, the show was forced to cancel the design for online release. At first, the Concept concept car was just a "practice work" in the design direction of Polestar Cars, but unexpectedly, the car was finally finalized to achieve mass production, and the current PoleStar executives have given the green light to this car, they believe that this concept car indicates the future design direction of the PoleStar brand, and hope that this product will have a strong contrast with other products of the parent company Volvo. Therefore, a strong signal prompted the concept car to be turned into a production car, and the early stage will be small batch production, directly competing with Porsche.
The Polestar 5 is expected to retain as many design elements as possible in its styling, and the car's R&D team is from Polestar's R&D centre in Coventry, UK, which includes a team of core sports car R&D engineers from Lotus, McLaren and Aston Martin, whose mission is to transform the Precept concept car into a Polestar 5.
In addition, more importantly, the Polestar 5 will be very different from the current products of Polestar, it will be separated from the platform built by Geely and Volvo, and will become the first new model under the exclusive pure electric platform architecture of Polestar. It is expected that the new car will use an all-aluminum architecture, equipped with the P10 front and rear dual motors developed in-house, and the total output power will reach 872 horsepower. Although the Polestar 5 adopts a new proprietary architecture, the power system part still uses the Polestar 3's 800V two-way charging system.
Maximilian Missoni, design director of Polestar, said: "The Precept concept car will bring a new design language, which will be used in Polar Star 3, Pole Star 4 and Pole Star 5, and its signature feature is to further introduce aerodynamic design, while the front of the car will create an exclusive shark nose style, which will be expanded according to different models. The headlights retain a double blade shape, a variant of volvo's Thor's Hammer and also a family design that will not be lost.
In order to cater to the practicality, the door opening design on the Precept concept car will be changed to the traditional front and rear hinges, but the PoleStar 5 will adopt a similar rear windowless design similar to the concept car, and will use the camera to observe the rear through the streaming mirror. The Polestar 5 will also have very large roof glass windows, a design that gives the Polestar 5 the feel of a mid-mounted rear-drive sports car. Polar star 5 will be designed with traditional exterior mirrors, after all, some countries and regions traffic laws do not allow cameras to replace traditional rearview mirrors.
In the interior of the car, the Polestar 5 will use more sustainable materials, and the interior will use a 3D knitting process, which is made of yarn made of recycled plastic. The interior also has panels that look like carbon fiber, but are actually made of linen. Other sustainable materials in the interior include cork, fishing nets and pine grease.
In terms of safe driving assistance, the LiDAR component on the Precept Concept will be retained in the Polestar 5, which will become one of the important optional components in the series production version of the Polestar 5.
It has been confirmed that the Polestar 5 will be put into operation at polestar's Chongqing plant in 2024, with an estimated annual production capacity of 30,000 units. When the media asked about the new pure electric exclusive platform of Polestar, are there any other models in addition to polestar 5? Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath replied: We see the opportunity brought by this new all-aluminum platform architecture, in the future we are creating a new combination, the future Polestar brand will have Polestar 1, Polar star 2, Polar Star 3 Pole Star 4 and Pole Star 5, the product is rich enough, and it is obviously reckless to talk about whether the new platform can bring more models. Due to the new platform's all-aluminum architecture, polaris 5 will remain low in production due to raw material constraints.
Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath also revealed to the media the current status of Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, of which Polar star 3 will use Volvo's latest SPA2 architecture, and the Polar Star 3 prototype is currently undergoing internal crash testing, which is expected to be put into production at the Chengdu plant and the South Carolina plant in the United States soon. At the same time, Polestar 4 is currently in the early stage of research and development. Both SUV models are expected to adopt the exterior design concept of the PoleStar Precept concept car, and the front of the car will be equipped with Smartzone, which covers a variety of sensors and radars, which will bring stronger safe driver assistance detection capabilities to the new car.
