Polestar 5 is a new coupe model under the high-performance electric vehicle brand Polestar, which is based on the Precept concept version model unveiled in 2020, positioned in a pure electric four-door coupe, and the new car is expected to be officially launched in 2024. Recently, Polestar announced that Polestar 5 will be based on a new customized all-aluminum bonding platform.

At present, polestar UK R & D team has developed in addition to a new and more efficient manufacturing process, so as to achieve the integration of body and platform. It is reported that due to the new car using an all-aluminum body and new technology, the body weight of the Polestar 5 will be lower than other models under the brand, which can greatly improve energy utilization, mileage and acceleration performance.
Located in midlands in the central UK, Polestar UK R&D Centre currently employs 280 engineers, with the number to 500 in the coming months. Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, said: "Polestar UK R&D team is one of Polestar's most important assets, combining their engineering and technical expertise to enable us to develop advanced lightweight sports car technology with a creative mindset and a spirit of embracing innovative engineering. ”
