The white paper says:
The low-temperature attenuation data of 53 new energy vehicles at home and abroad in the past 10 years show that during the period from 2012 to 2021, the average value and distribution range of the low-temperature mileage retention rate of new energy vehicles have not changed significantly, and the mileage retention rate of 65.38% of new energy vehicles in low temperature environments is about 52.8% to 67.2%. In other words, more than 60% of the new energy vehicles in the low temperature environment of the endurance loss rate of more than 30%.
In response to the suggestions for the use of new energy vehicles in winter, Wang Peng mentioned: First of all, it is necessary to use air conditioning reasonably, it is recommended to use seat heating instead of air conditioning; the second is to preheat the vehicle in advance, and the third is to park the vehicle in a suitable parking place, preferably in the garage, so as to reduce the impact of low temperature on the power battery.
China Automobile Research Institute also previously released a survey report, China Automobile Research Institute tested the cruising range at normal temperature (23±3 °C) and low temperature (-7±3 °C) environment, ranking according to the endurance decline rate:
BYD Han EV, the decline rate -30.9%;
BMW iX3, down rate -36.6%;
Tesla Model 3, down -36.9%;
NIO EC6, the decline rate -42.1%;
Xiaopeng P7, the decline rate -42.3%;
Nezha U Pro, the decline rate - 42.4%.
It is true that most vehicles have an endurance loss rate of more than 30%, and many are close to or more than 40%. The above suggestions given by experts are only helpless under the current technical conditions, and it is fundamentally necessary to improve the technical level and increase the research and development of sodium-ion batteries.
Friends in the north buy new energy vehicles, there are three more suitable choices. One is to buy extended range electric vehicles, the current investment in this area of car companies is not too much, the more well-known is the ideal, including Nezha who recently entered this field, etc.; the second option is to buy plug-in hybrid models, BYD's DM models, including Geely and other brands of plug-in hybrid models, are good choices.
The third option is the sodium-ion battery that CATL will launch in the future. Sodium-ion batteries are more hardy and more suitable for use in northern regions. At the same time, sodium-ion batteries are safer, not afraid of short circuits, squeezes, needle punches, and also have greater protection in safety. Consumers in the north may wish to wait for sodium-ion batteries to be listed if they are not in a hurry to buy a car.
