He was Hu Zongnan's second-in-command, who led more than 100,000 people to revolt, and only at the age of 93 did he get what he wanted to join our party

Speaking of Hu Zongnan, we all know that he was one of the old Chiang Kai-shek's confidants, graduated from the Whampoa Military Academy, and in 1947 he became a commander, attacked Yan'an, the base area of our party, and became the director of the Xi'an Appeasement Office, who had 100,000 heavy troops, and became the "King of the Northwest" who was mighty and powerful.

In the later stages of the Liberation War, he was defeated by our army and retreated to Taiwan, so what happened to his deputies, which has to be mentioned by a deputy named Pei Changhui, who was not only the deputy director of the Appeasement Office when he was in Xi'an, but also served as the commander of the corps and was Hu Zongnan's second-in-command.

He was born in Weifang, Shandong, from a good family, but also received patriotic education, from an early age determined to set up industry to save the country, but then the trajectory of life was not the same as he expected, he threw himself into the battlefield, was admitted to the military academy, and later after graduation, after being assigned, came to Sun Chuanfang's army, and then went to the Kuomintang army.

Because he was from the Miscellaneous Army, he had never spent time in the Whampoa Military Academy, let alone a concubine of old Chiang, so this also implied that he would not have the opportunity to become a general of the old Chiang Kai-shek clan in the future. But he was not a straw bale type figure, he still had two brushes, and in 1936, during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he led the 47th Division as a reinforcement to Zhuo County, Hebei Province

The situation was not ideal, and friendly defenses had been losing ground, as the Japanese had the upper hand in battle with advanced weapons and equipment. He led his soldiers to resist desperately and stubbornly held out, lasting 7 days and 7 nights, and also broke through the emperor's blockade line and preserved his strength.

He also maintained good relations with the Eighth Route Army, and in 1940, he led his troops to move to the area around Wangwu and Taihang Mountain, where he also cooperated with our army in fighting the enemy.

The friendly relations between the two sides lasted for two years, and his relationship with Chen Shuai was also very good, because the battle behind the enemy lines was very tense, and the small detachment of our army often returned to his Ninth Army defense area to stop and stay, and he would order his men to entertain our soldiers well and replenish some ammunition for them.

It can also be seen from here that when the country was in trouble, he was still able to carry it clearly, knowing that he would put aside the struggle between factions and wholeheartedly drive out the invaders, but because he was concerned about the country and was busy participating in the battle, his relatives could not be taken care of, and only the second son survived under the knife of the Japanese invaders who lost 7 lives.

After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, he participated in the War of Liberation, and in the Battle of Hutishan he lost a lot of people, and could only retreat to Sichuan, and when he arrived in Baoji, Shaanxi, he met a nobleman who turned his fate around.

This nobleman was also his good friend, named Li Xisan, a communist, who advised Pei Changhui not to hesitate and lead his 100,000 men and horses to revolt.

On December 23, 1949, he led his subordinates in an uprising in this part of Deyang, and he has always had a wish to join our party. But this wish was not realized until later in life. He served as the director of the Chuanbei Industrial Department and the director of the Southwest Textile Bureau.

He died of illness in Chongqing in 1992 at the age of 96.
