Modern Express News (correspondent Wang Cheng, reporter Zhuang Jianxiang) "In recent years, the Grand Canal has been very popular, and we want to connect the Grand Canal with food in the form of a food map, so that everyone can more intuitively feel the charm of the cities along the canal." Recently, the team of teachers and students of the School of Journalism and Media of Yangzhou University launched the shooting and development of the "Food Map" of the Grand Canal. On October 25, Ding Wentao, a senior majoring in radio and television at the New Transmission Institute, said that at present, the team has filmed many cities in the province, and the food map APP "Food to Run" (tentatively named) is also under development.

"We've been shooting since summer vacation." Ding Wentao introduced that in the summer of 2021, the 8-person development and shooting team returned to their hometowns to shoot some materials in their own cities, and at present, they have photographed Suzhou Wuxi and other cities, and the size of video and picture materials has added up to nearly 100G.
The Modern Express reporter learned that at present, the team has completed the investigation and shooting of three key cities along the canal in Suzhou, Wuxi and Yangzhou. From Suzhou Shihu Bridge to Hanshan Bridge, Shantang Street, Shilu Pedestrian Street, to Wuxi Jiangyin Chengjiang Fudi Commercial Street, and then to Yangzhou Dongguan Street, Caiyi Street and other representative cultural areas, the team members recorded the production process of local delicacies such as horseshoe puff pastry, osmanthus sugar root, and Wensi tofu through meticulous and unique lens language, and obtained detailed data such as the form style and taste style of canal cuisine.
After returning to school, the students majoring in educational technology in the college also began to develop the "Food to Run" APP. "Our app is available offline, categorized by city, and each city can be clicked to see a variety of cuisines exclusive to that city." Team leader Zhang Rong introduced that this kind of graph APP will most intuitively allow users to get the information they want.
At the same time, the shooting and development adopts a combination of online and offline methods, data image recording through field investigation and shooting, combined with the establishment of an online media matrix, and real-time display of progress and achievements through new media platforms such as WeChat, Weibo, and Douyin. It is reported that the team is already making a plan to "go north", and next, it will shoot crayfish in Huai'an and barbecue in Xuzhou.
