As a specialty food in Xiamen, Xinwei dried beans, handmade noodles, and horseshoe puff pastry are deeply loved by the public, but due to the lack of national standards, landmarks and even industry standards, the quality of food products is difficult to guarantee, and the development of the industry is hindered. Experts of Xiamen Quality Inspection Institute, together with Xiamen Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, Xiamen Municipal Food Safety Office, and Xiamen Food Safety Federation, set up a standard drafting and discussion group, according to product characteristics, with reference to Taiwan standards (increase the total aflatoxin testing items), after full investigation and solicitation of opinions, combined with the actual situation of enterprises, successfully passed the standard review, and the food safety group standard for Xiamen led by the Municipal Quality Inspection Institute was officially approved and released.

With the opening of the Food Safety Publicity Week in Fujian Province, the food safety group standard for Xiamen will help standardize and improve the production and processing of Xiamen's specialty foods. At the same time, the Municipal Food Safety Office and the Municipal Market Supervision Bureau authorized The Food Safety Association to apply to the Trademark Office of the State Intellectual Property Office for the registration of the "Heron Product" public brand as a food label for Xiamen, promote the listing of products that meet the food safety standards of Xiamen, and gradually create a brand image of Food for Xiamen. These food safety group standards for Xiamen have enhanced the influence of Xiamen's traditional specialty foods, relying on public brands, forming a joint force for industrial development, and promoting the development of Xiamen's specialty food industry.
