He was Lu Zhi, a classicist at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty and Liu Bei's teacher. Many people may be a little unfamiliar with Lu Zhi, a fellow of Liu Bei, a native of Zhuo County (涿郡, in present-day Zhuozhou, Hebei). However, Lu Zhi's family conditions were better than Liu Bei's, and his ancestor was a doctor of the Five Classics, and when he was young, he worshiped the taiwei Chen Qiu and the Great Ru Ma Rong as his teachers, all of whom were knowledgeable and prominent. After studying with them for several years, Lu Zhi gained a lot of knowledge and contacts, and soon became famous and praised by the people around him.

At that time, there was a foreign relative named Dou Wu, who was greatly rewarded by the Han Ling Emperor Liu Hong for his meritorious service in supporting the Han Ling Emperor. After Lu Zhi learned of this, he thought that Dou Wu's merits were not worthy of such a heavy reward, and wrote to him in the capacity of cloth to persuade him not to accept it, but Dou Wu could not listen to what Lu Zhi said, and still accepted the reward. As a result, within two years, he was killed by the eunuch, which made Lu Zhi's reputation even more famous. After this, Lu Zhi served as the Taishou of Jiujiang and Lujiang, during which he did a lot of practical things to quell the barbarian rebellion, which was unanimously praised by the people and the imperial court. It was also during this period that Liu Beibai entered Lu Zhi's door and followed him to study the classics.

In February of the seventh year of Guanghe (184), Zhang Jiao, a native of Julu Commandery, launched an uprising of the Yellow Turban Army, and Emperor Lu of Luqi, who was both literate and martial, appointed the general of Northern Zhonglang and led the five generals of the Northern Army to Jizhou to suppress the rebellion. After Lu Zhi arrived at the front line, he won consecutive battles, and Zhang Jiao and others had no choice but to retreat to Guangzong County. Seeing that Lu Zhi led his army to besiege the county seat of Guangzong and dig trenches and prepare to attack the city, Xiaohuangmen Zuofeng was ordered to come and inspect and wanted to ask for money. Who knew that Lu Zhi was not willing to pay bribes at all, so Zuo Feng returned to the palace and told Emperor Hanling about it.

Soon, Lu Zhi was dismissed from his post and sent back to Luoyang in a prison cart, where he was imprisoned. The imperial court immediately promoted Dong Zhuo to the position of General of Dongzhong Lang and succeeded Lu Zhi, but was defeated one after another. In the end, it was Zuo Zhonglang who sent Emperor Fusong out of his horse to pacify the Yellow Turban Army, and when he returned to the imperial court, he pushed the battle merits to Lu Zhi, which led to Lu Zhi's release from prison, and he was immediately reinstated as a shang shu.

In fact, Lu Zhi has always been an upright person, and he is not afraid of power. When Dong Zhuo threatened to depose the young emperor Liu Zhuo when he was in chaos, none of the ministers dared to stand up against it, only Lu Zhihun was not afraid to die on the ground, Dong Zhuo was so angry that he almost wanted to kill him, and later estimated that he was a great Confucian in hai, but he was afraid of provoking opposition from the world's corporals, so he dismissed him. So Lu Zhi copied the path back to his hometown, escaped the assassination team sent by Dong Zhuo, and finally lived in seclusion in Shanggu Jundushan, no longer interfering in the politics of the dynasty. In the second year of Chuping (191 AD), Yuan Shao worshiped Lu Zhi as a teacher, hoping that he could go out to the mountains to help himself, but Lu Zhi finally chose to stay there and continue to live in seclusion until his death two years later. In the twelfth year of Jian'an (207 AD), Cao Cao led an army on the way to Wuhuan in the Northern Expedition, and also went to his grave to sweep the grave and issued a notice to praise him.

After Lu Zhi's death, he was constantly posthumously honored by later rulers, entering the temple to enjoy Confucius in the Tang Dynasty, and being crowned Liangxiang Bo during the Northern Song Dynasty. At the same time, his descendants also became more and more prominent, with his son Lu Yuguan (曹魏政) and the Marquis of Fengrongcheng; his grandson Lu Qin,the Western Jin dynasty official Zhi Shangshu servant; his grandson Lu Jue,serving as Cao Wei Taishan Taishou; and his great-grandson Lu Hao and Lu Zhi,all of whom were Western Jin Shangshu. It is worth mentioning that Lu Zhi belongs to the Fanyang Lu clan, and this lu clan member has been quite influential in history, such as Lu Zhaoling, one of the "Four Masters of the Early Tang Dynasty", who is a descendant of Lu Zhi, and there were eight prime ministers in the Tang Dynasty, all of whom were from the Fanyang Lu clan. What is even more amazing is that the Fanyang Lu clan also moved to the Korean Peninsula during the turmoil at the end of the Tang Dynasty, and then multiplied to become a large prestigious clan, numbering more than 300,000, and the former president of South Korea, Roh Moo-hyun, was from the famous Fanyang Lu clan.
