Blizzard is developing an unpublished AAA open world multiplayer game

Blizzard is currently working on several blockbusters, two of which are apparently Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2, in addition to Blizzard's unpublished AAA multiplayer game. Recently Blizzard is recruiting a lead mission designer for this AAA multiplayer game.

According to the job description, Blizzard requires experience in "designing and writing open-world scripts or live gameplay content" to create a "cohesive vision" for "generating encounters, world events, and environmental narratives."

Another list of responsibilities is: "Generate and write creatures to create compelling outside behavior and interesting combat encounters." These are design elements that are often used in open-world games, with online games being the most obvious. In particular, the description of "outside behavior" implies that there will be thugs wandering through an open world, waiting for the player to launch an encounter.

In fact, this is not the first time that this AAA multiplayer game has been exposed in a recruitment position. There have been several similar job postings mentioning the game throughout 2021. Other job postings also mention FPS and RPG mechanics, though it's unclear if they're the same game.
