If you want to explore why the Republic is red, perhaps these veterans are the answer!

On the occasion of commemorating the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the party committee of Xishan Coal and Power Group specially invited the veterans and veterans who participated in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the War of Liberation, and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea to wear party emblems, issue party constitutions, and give party lessons to new party members, telling the original intention and mission of that year.

Everyone is a vast book, magnificent but warm in the heart; full of awe but tearful eyes - the founding captain Ge Zhousuo, the health squad leader with scissors on his chest, Yang Jingxiang, a soldier of the three services, etc., along the red inheritance road of the ancestors, what appears in front of us is a broad road leading to socialism.

At the end of the interview, in the dark, the Shanxi Evening News reporter took a steady step, walking on the road step by step. Go home, bury your head in the case, and relive the true story that records this page!

Ge Zhousuo is nearly 91 years old and looks like he has a good mental head. Perhaps it is a dark disease left over from the military career of the early years of guns and bullets, and in the exchange, the juniors are often asked to speak to the ears. But communication was smooth. Hearing our intentions, Ge Zhousuo's emotions gradually rose, as if he had returned to that era. In the narration, the sound is like a flood bell, and the confidence is very strong.

In 1944, at the age of 16, Ge Zhousuo joined the Eighth Route Army and became a soldier in the third company of the Lüliang Independent Regiment of the Jinsui Military Region, and in September of the following year, during the battle against Zhongyang County, because the cloud ladder was blown off by a mine dropped by the enemy, he fell from a height of more than ten meters, resulting in a fracture of the right leg and knee joint. In September 1947, after recovering from his wounds, Ge Zhousuo returned to the old unit of the Northwest Field Army, 22nd Regiment, 1st Battalion, 2nd Company, 7nd Brigade, and 3rd Brigade, and participated in the Battles of Yuncheng, Linfen, and Jinzhong with the troops. That year, China was engaged in a national liberation campaign, and everyone was fighting for victory toward the dawn. "In the battle to liberate Taiyuan, our company launched an attack on position No. 7 of Niutuozhai. It was a fierce battle. Every minute and every second someone fell, the bullets were as dense as raindrops, and in order to occupy this commanding height, we charged again and again, and finally fought with the enemy hand-to-hand, the company commander was sacrificed, the instructor was sacrificed, and many comrades fell on the position..."

When we went up, there were 84 people, and when we came down, there were only 3 people left, and they were all carried down on stretchers. In this battle, my left finger was pierced by a bullet and my head was injured. Taiyuan was liberated, and the troops went all the way to the west. From Lanzhou to Yumen and Jiuquan, one war after another was fought until the liberation of the Great Northwest. Ge Zhousuo also went from a squad leader to a platoon leader and a company commander...

The old man's emotions are high, but we have tears in the corners of our eyes. Following the old man's narration, he walked into the battlefield of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, which was icy and snowy, and where wars were raging. After crossing the Yalu River in 1950, Ge Zhousuo participated in the second, third, fourth, and fifth battles with his troops. In the Battle of Shangganling, as a company commander, he led the company to hold the position for more than 20 days, with heavy casualties, the enemy bombed continuously 24 hours a day, and the soldiers had no time to rest, and could only seize the time to squint for a short time between bombing.

"The hardest thing then was to have no food, no ammunition, no water to drink. In order to send a bag of grain to the position, many people had to be sacrificed. For a while, there were only half a bag of rice for more than 50 people in the cave, and in order to save food, everyone ate only a handful of raw rice for a meal. Later, the environment was worse, and once everyone did not eat a grain for 3 days. Without water to drink, the warriors were so thirsty that their throats were on fire, and they had no choice but to drink their own urine and lick the cracks of the stone..."

When the People's Liberation Army conferred the rank of captain, Ge Zhousuo was awarded the rank of captain. The old man asked his son to take out a small bag to open, and a three-star epaulette on the military uniform of that year made our eyes light up. I couldn't help but say, "Captain Founding." The old man did not hear clearly, and his son repeated it aloud in his ear, and the old man laughed.

After coming down from the battlefield, Ge Zhousuo transferred to the Taiyuan Xishan Mining Bureau, serving as the deputy mine director of the Baijiazhuang Mine, often going down the well to dig coal and hit the roadway with the workers. Later, he was transferred to the director and secretary of the auto repair plant of the Xishan Mining Bureau, the chairman of the trade union of the enterprise department, and the chairman of the trade union of the Xishan Cement Factory until his retirement.

"It will soon be the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, and I miss the comrades who died in that year. A good day like today was bought by their blood. Cherish it. ”

Although the old man's voice is not high, it strikes our hearts like a heavy hammer.

The 88-year-old Wang Shu is deaf and blind, and his memory is surprisingly good.

"I came from a very hard background, I didn't have a father at the age of 3, and three months later my mother gave birth to a younger brother. The mother with her two children struggled to survive by spinning thread and making shoes. Later, when the Communist Party came, I joined the peasant association and the women's meeting, jumped around all day to carry out land reform, held women's literacy classes, and recognized a few words myself. In 1947, the army recruited nurses, and I signed up for the army. After a short period of training, I worked as a nurse at the 33rd Field Hospital of the Northeast Field Army. After the Liaoshen Campaign began, I went to the front. Speaking of the past, Wang Shu was particularly excited.

"The first stage of the Liaoshen Campaign was fought very hard. I have seen our soldiers wounded and sacrificed in the enemy's artillery fire, and their hearts have been shaken again and again. The trumpeter was blowing the charge trumpet, and suddenly a bullet passed through the crotch, and the child fell on the spot, he was still so young! The instructor shouted, Rush! Before the words could be heard, the enemy bullets hit the mouth and came out of the back of the neck, bleeding like blood. I cried and went up to hold the wound, briefly bandaged it, and carried the wounded down with the stretcher bearer. Because we had no air defenses, enemy planes were rampant, flying around the treetops, dropping bombs and firing machine guns. The battalion commander who was commanding everyone to hide was blown open, and his intestines flowed out, and he pulled himself into the hood. I ran up to him and pressed his intestines in, wrapped them in bandages and leggings. But before the stretcher team arrived, he was dead..." Wang Shu's eyes were red, and tears rolled down his cheeks. We weren't in a good mood either. Seeing everyone's depressed mood, Wang Shu comforted us instead, "For them, we must live better." ”

"What impressed me most was the constant desperate effort to bandage the wounds of one wounded person after another and to carry the wounded on their backs. During the Montenegro blockade war, I was lying on the ground to bandage the wounds of the wounded, when I heard a sharp whistle, the enemy plane dropped bombs, and I pounced on the wounded. The bomb landed not far away, and I think this time it was over. But after waiting a while, the bomb did not explode! I pulled up the wounded and said, 'We're not dead, we've got two lives.' After a soldier was wounded, he couldn't urinate for a long time, and he couldn't hold it very badly. But there was no catheter on our position, and we had to go to another hill to get it. I went down the hill, when the enemy planes came, strafing and dropping bombs, and as soon as my eyes were closed, I couldn't go back anyway, so I ignored the bullets overhead and crawled along the grass in the ditch. The catheter was retrieved, and the wounded man finally urinated. ”

Wang Shu couldn't help but cry again. It was also at that time that she was praised and quickly joined the party on the battlefield. After the founding of New China, Wang Shu participated in the construction of the Taiyuan Coal Preparation Plant of the Xishan Mining Bureau, and served as a building materials inspector, assistant engineer, office secretary, and female labor department of the trade union. Certificates of meritorious service awards such as "advanced workers" and "model communist party members" are stacked up to half a person high.

Although he is 90 years old, Cong Guangzhen, who is tall and tall, is still in good spirits and knows the mighty martial arts of that year at a glance. At Cong Guangzhen's home, listening to him tell the story of the battle that laid the foundation for new China, it was as if he could still smell the smoke of gunfire.

Speaking of the old man, I have to say one of his nicknames: "the health squad leader with scissors on his chest.".

In the spring of 1945, Cong Guangzhen joined the guerrilla group of the Eighth Route Army in the Yaoshan District of Xintai City, Shandong Province, specializing in breaking roads, hinging wires, and firing guns at the Devil's Gun Tower to harass and confuse the enemy. Because of his bravery and cleverness, he was promoted to the Independent Battalion of Surabaya County. After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he was incorporated into the Second Guard Brigade of the Luzhong Military Region of the Eighth Route Army in Shandong Province, and later reorganized to become a health squad leader of the 3rd Battalion of the 233rd Regiment of the Eighth Column of the East China Field Army. He participated in the Battle of Laiwu, the Battle of Menglianggu, the Battle of Huaihai, the Battle of Crossing the River and the Battle of Liberating Shanghai.

"At that time, the fighting was extremely fierce, the wounded were very large, and the ambulance crews were very busy. The enemy tanks came up, and the soldiers could do nothing with it, watching the battalion command post collapse, and all but the instructors and the battalion commander were sacrificed. To rescue the wounded on the battlefield, scissors are the most important. To prevent loss, I tied the scissors with bandages and hung them around my neck. When encountering the injured, immediately cut open the clothes, stop the bleeding, bandage, and give first aid. Time is of the essence. ”

Later, Cong Guangzhen often hung a pair of scissors on his chest and raced against time to treat the wounded.

During the Korean War, Cong Guangzhen was hit in the head by Shrapnel from a U.S. plane while rescuing the wounded on the battlefield and was in a deep coma for three days.

"You see, here, see?" The old man pulled his hair open, and a walnut-sized scar on the top of his head was still clearly visible.

After coming down from the Korean battlefield in 1952, Cong Guangzhen was classified as eighth-degree disabled, and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China issued him a disabled soldier's certificate, but he only spent two years in the Invalides Hospital before devoting himself to socialist construction. He served as the chief of the health section in the 12th Engineering Department of the Ministry of Coal Industry, and went to the north and south with the engineering department, and participated in the construction of Beijing Washing and Dressing Company, Yangquan Mining Bureau, Jincheng Mining Bureau, and Jiexiu Coal Preparation Plant. In 1985, he went with the Engineering Agency to the Xishan Mining Bureau in Taiyuan, Shanxi, and participated in the construction of the Gujiao Mining Area, and built the Tunlan Coal Preparation Plant with an annual output of 4 million tons and 4 million tons of raw coal washed annually, and left in 1993. "I joined the party on October 20, 1947, when I liberated Zhoukou, Henan. At that time, my original intention was to 'fight for the toiling masses and fight for communism'. For 72 years, it is still that original intention. He said.

In a family building at the Taiyuan Coal Preparation Plant in Xishan Coal Power, we met Yang Jingxiang, 98, and his 91-year-old wife. With the help of his wife, the elderly Yang Jingxiang put on a short-sleeved shirt with 7 badges of different ages on his chest.

"I joined the Eighth Route Army in 1940 and joined the Party in 1943. When fighting little Japan, it was often during the day to help fellow villagers harvest wheat and march at night to fight. During a rush to harvest the wheat, the enemy suddenly struck, and a bullet passed through his left arm. Yang Jingxiang raised his left arm, and a large scar of broad beans was clearly visible.

"After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, I fought with the troops in the Xuanhua and Guisui areas and participated in the Battle of Qingfengdian. In 1951, I became a member of the Volunteer Army, crossed the Yalu River, and participated in the First Campaign, the Second Campaign, and the Shangganling Campaign. At that time, North Korea was cold, the military uniforms were thin, the quilts were thin, and everyone was frozen enough. When we were in Shangganling, we could not drink water for forty days, the American soldiers fired artillery during the day, and at night they put flares, and the water could not be transported at all, and we stuck in the tunnel, really thirsty, and drank horse urine. The soldiers went down the ravine to carry the water, and the enemy aimed at the fight, sacrificing many comrades-in-arms. But we persevered and beat the enemy back to the three-eighth line. ”

Yang Jingxiang took up a cup of water to moisten his throat, and his wife interjected: "From the Eighth Route Army, the People's Liberation Army to the Volunteer Army, he fought for more than ten years for new China, and everyone called him 'Soldier of the Three Services'. ”

This "soldier of the three services", Yang Jingxiang, returned to China in 1953 and served as an instructor in the artillery regiment of the 67th Army. In 1956, Yang Jingxiang transferred to the Taiyuan Xishan Mining Bureau as a fire brigade instructor, guarding the safety of the mining area. In 1958, the Taiyuan coal preparation plant was prepared, and he volunteered to participate in the construction of the coal preparation plant, and a year later, the first coal preparation plant in Shanxi was built. At that time, he served as the deputy chief of the transportation and marketing section of the coal preparation plant, loading and unloading trains every day, and doing the most happy work. He often said: "Now that there is no war, we must go all out to build socialism." "This momentum remained until the end of the day.

After leaving retirement, Yang Jingxiang insisted on reading the newspaper every day to understand the major events of the country. On July 1, 2019, on the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, he wore the party emblem for the new party members of Xishan Coal and Power Group Company, presented the party constitution, told them the party lesson of the original heart, and instructed them: "Study the party constitution well, do things in accordance with the requirements of the party constitution, do not forget the original intention, keep in mind the mission, and always follow the party." ”

In two years, it will be the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. At that time, Yang Jingxiang also happened to be 100 years old. He said: "I will contribute to the party again." ”
