On the same day, a press conference on the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in Shaanxi Province was held to report on the recent epidemic prevention and control work in the province. At 0-24:00 on December 20, Shaanxi reported 43 new locally confirmed cases (42 in Xi'an City and 1 in Xianyang City). Since 9 December, the province has reported a cumulative total of 96 locally confirmed cases (91 in Xi'an City, 3 in Yan'an City, and 2 in Xianyang City). As of 12:00 on December 21, the province has accumulated 7,620 people and 17,452 people in the province. At present, Xi'an has designated 1 high-risk area and 13 medium-risk areas.

Shaanxi officials said that it has strengthened community sealing and social control, while strengthening the prevention and control of medical institutions, farmers' markets, shopping malls, supermarkets, hotels and guesthouses, catering services, culture and entertainment and other key places, and resolutely preventing the spread of the epidemic caused by the gathering of people. According to Zhang Wenzheng, deputy director of the Department of Commerce of Shaanxi Province, the recent supply of 11 types of daily necessities such as grain, oil, meat, vegetables, eggs and milk in Shaanxi Province is sufficient, and the provincial and municipal meat and vegetable reserves are in place, which can fully meet the needs of residents' daily life and market emergency regulation.

Among them, the average daily trading volume of vegetables in 7 large agricultural and sideline products wholesale markets was stable at more than 18,000 tons, which was basically the same as the average daily trading volume in previous years. Vegetable prices have continued to decline since the beginning of November, and this week compared with last week, the average wholesale price of 30 vegetables fell by 4.59%, the retail price fell by 1.46%, and the wholesale price was the same as the same period last year.

According to the annual practice, at present, 45,000 tons of winter and spring vegetable reserves have all been in place, of which 24,000 tons of winter and spring vegetables are stored in Xi'an, which can meet the consumption of the urban permanent population for 5 days. The implementation of the pork reserve plan can meet the consumption of the urban permanent population for 3 days. Small packages of grain barrels of edible oil are well stocked to meet the needs of one month. Convenient food, bottled drinking water is in place to meet the needs of 3 days.

How should we deal with the situation that the wholesale market for agricultural products may be closed due to the spread of the epidemic? Zhang Wenzheng said that if a large wholesale market is closed, the department proposes the following three emergency disposal plans: one is to transfer the market as a whole and rely on the venues provided by other wholesale markets for supply; the other is to reopen the site for supply. The third is joint guarantee and joint supply, and other wholesale markets share their supply business.
