Shang Xiaoyun (1900-1976), a native of Nangong City, Xingtai, Hebei Province. Ming Dequan, zi Qixia, famous Peking Opera performance artist, founder of Peking Opera "Shangpai", one of the "Four Famous Dans" of Peking Opera. Nearly 60 years of stage practice has created a Peking Opera Shangpai art that attaches equal importance to literature and martial arts, singing and dancing, fresh and heroic, and free and generous", which has a profound impact on future generations.

In 1959, at the invitation of Xi Zhongxun, vice premier of the State Council, first secretary of the Northwest Bureau of the Central Committee, and people from all walks of life in Shaanxi, Shang Xiaoyun decided to support the cultural construction cause of the Great Northwest, led his family and troupe to Shaanxi, and successively served as the artistic director of the Shaanxi Provincial Opera School, the executive director of the Shaanxi Provincial Drama Association, and the president of the Shaanxi Provincial Peking Opera House, making outstanding contributions to the cause of Shaanxi Opera. In the summer of 1974, he was accompanied by his relatives to Beijing to treat eye diseases, and then due to the increasingly serious eye diseases and kidney diseases, he repeatedly requested to return to Xi'an. On March 15, 1976, he returned to Xi'an and continued to receive treatment at the First People's Hospital of Xi'an.

In his terminal illness, the gentleman said to his family and his disciples, "You don't have to hide from me. I already have a feeling of complete coldness, and I am afraid that I will not be able to pass the hurdle. No one can violate the law of life, old age, illness and death. Chinese there is a custom of arranging the aftermath for future generations before death, and I will also follow the customs. His will to his wife Wang Ruifang, secretary Zhang Jingrong, and others was:

(1) Xi'an counts as my second hometown. I have great feelings for the people of xi'an and the three Qins. I would like to ascend to heaven in Xi'an, not die in Beijing. This can also be regarded as being born as a Xi'an person and dying as a Xi'an ghost;

(2) After I became a teacher with a small reputation, I relied on the stage to perform, and originally had some accumulation. Unfortunately, in order to run rongchun keban, the family was ruined, and the foreign debt was also pulled. I have no legacy to leave for future generations, but what I leave behind is the contrast between my bumpy experience and the artists in the old and new society. In my opinion, the latter is more important than the family property. In this way, we can ensure that the heart of loving the party is unshakable, the heart of patriotism is unshakable, and the heart of loving the people is unshakable;

(3) I have many friends in the Peking Opera circle and other literary and art units, and under the current circumstances, the situation of my friends is not much better than mine. When I die, I am not allowed to tell my friends, lest I worry them more;

(iv) I have many disciples. In the Tang Dynasty, Han Changli was impressed by Li Zipan's unfettered fashion of seeking a teacher, and gave it to him in "The Sayings of the Master". My message to students is the ancient adage of "karma is good at diligence". The students who really respect me are those who study hard and believe in endless art. Fanwu students, as long as the art is noble, serves the people, and has excellent skills, I am also very relieved under the Nine Springs;

(5) Today, my reputation is not good, and my life is worth half a pound and eight or two, and everyone knows it. He is not wise that is not wise for himself. In view of my merits and demerits, there will be no memorial service after death, and the funeral will be frugal, and do not be extravagant and wasteful.

Shang Xiaoyun, who has not been cured for a long time, is like a lamp in the wind. At 3 o'clock on April 19, 1976, he passed away, and an artistic lamp was extinguished in the ancient capital of the Thirteen Dynasties.
