Twitter user @willzlife exposed in a tweet shared on December 19 that the 2021 Model 3 new car uses a battery pack produced in 2017. He said he had never seen a car made in 2021 with parts from 2017. Subsequently, similar cases were found in surveys in Austin, Honolulu, Denver, Portland, Los Angeles, Miami and the San Francisco Bay Area.
There are 15 cars in the San Francisco Bay Area, 5 in Austin, 2 in Honolulu, 3 in Denver, 2 in Portland, 6 in Los Angeles, and 1 in Miami. All of this is a long-endurance version of the 2021 Tesla Model 3 with FSD capabilities, which sells for more than $60,000 (equivalent to 382404 yuan). All 29 electric vehicles are equipped with battery packs from 2017.
