On September 12, 1368 (the first year of Ming Hongwu), the Ming Dynasty renamed most of the capital Beiping Province, taking the meaning of northern peace. Later, Zhu Di moved the capital to Beiping and renamed it Beijing, corresponding to Nanjing. Beiping is actually a nickname for Beijing, and since Zhu Di moved the capital to Beijing, it has become the capital of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Nearly 600 years of operation have made Beijing a world-famous cultural capital, which is a priceless treasure for the whole of China.

From here, we can see how important the peaceful liberation of that year was, and it was the peaceful liberation that saved the liberation of Peiping from the flames of war. All the precious historical buildings of the ancient cultural capital, including the current Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven, have been well preserved, and the lives and property of millions of Beijing citizens have been spared. It not only shook China and foreign countries, but also laid the foundation for Beiping, the capital of new China, and the Way of Creating Beiping became an example of the later liberation of Hunan, Sichuan, Xinjiang and Yunnan.

There are two people who must say what must be said about this incident, that is, Fu Zuoyi and his eldest daughter Fu Dongju, and what happened to them later?

Fu Zuoyi, born on June 27, 1895, was a famous anti-Japanese general and former general of the Nationalist Army. In the early years, he participated in the Xinhai Revolution, and later entered the Baoding Military Academy, participating in the Northern Expedition and the Central Plains War. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, as commander-in-chief of the Seventh Army, he once said: Yue Wumu was martyred at the age of 38, and I am over 38 years old, and I have no complaints about dying for the anti-Japanese resistance.

In fact, he did the same, and he led the Battle of Taiyuan to defend the city that year, covering the safe transfer of Wei Lihuang, Sun Lianzhong and others. In the end, although the Japanese army occupied Taiyuan, it also suffered heavy casualties and was unable to continue the southern invasion. During his resistance against Japan, he also got along with the Eighth Route Army more harmoniously, and Yan Xishan once attacked him: he brought the troops to red. These things also set the beginning for the future peaceful liberation, and during the Liberation War, Fu Zuoyi's position was the commander-in-chief of the North China Suppression Campaign.

But he was still a little hesitant at that time, and fu Dongju played a key role, she was Fu Zuoyi's first child. Born on December 30, 1924, he followed his mother to Chongqing in 1941, where he joined the Horn Society. Embracing progressive ideas, she embarked on a different path from her father, and actively participated in the student movement during her studies at Southwest United University. Later, after investigation, the underground organization absorbed him as a member of the stronghold and began a secret revolution.

Fu Dongju had an excellent cover identity, that is, he relied on this identity to hand over some of the information and documents he learned, even if he handed it over to the underground organization, which played a great role in the struggle. In 1948, when the Liaoshen Campaign was tense, her superiors thought of her. With the instructions given by the organization, Fu Dongju returned to Beiping and talked to his father several times. She told her father very clearly which side she was, and from time to time she put newspapers and pamphlets in the Liberated Areas on her father's desk.

On the other hand, the situation also reported to the underground organization, providing an important basis for making correct decisions. With the active struggle and the promotion of all sides, Fu Zuoyi finally made up his mind and took a crucial step in the peaceful uprising. In mid-December 1948, the two sides began their first negotiations, and on January 21, 1949, Fu Zuoyi announced that the Beiping garrison had accepted a peaceful reorganization. By January 31, the People's Liberation Army entered the city to take over the defense, and Peiping was peacefully liberated.

It is worth mentioning that after the Beiping Uprising, Fu Zuoyi contributed to the Suiyuan Uprising. With such contributions, the country and the people will naturally not forget them, and after the founding of the People's Republic of China, Fu Zuoyi concentrated on water conservancy. He died of illness on April 19, 1974, at the age of 79. Fu Dongju continued her work, responsible for editing a class, and successively worked in Yunnan Daily, People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency Hong Kong Branch and other places.

It's just that Fu Dongju's health is not very good, and she has many diseases in her later years and has to take medicine all year round. Of course, she is a retired cadre at the level of the department and bureau, and her medical expenses are reimbursed, and her life is quite OK. Her husband, Zhou Yizhi, is also a student of the Journalism Department of Southwest United University, and the two are in love, and one editor and one reporter are also matched. On the evening of July 2, 2007, Fu Dongju died at the age of 83 due to ineffective medical treatment.
