As you may all know, during the Republic of China period, there were five tiger generals under the command of the big man Chiang Kai-shek, who were Liu Zhi, Chen Cheng, Wei Lihuang, Jiang Dingwen, Gu Zhu and the other five people who were called the five tiger generals. However, as Chiang Kai-shek's opponents, that is, the great Grandpa Mao also had five tiger generals, namely Peng Laozong, Lin Zong, Xu Shuai, General Chen Geng and General Su Yu, they were called the five tiger generals of our party during the Liberation War.
Judging from the list of five tiger generals on both sides, friends who may be familiar with history know that the quality of the five tigers around Grandpa Mao is significantly higher than that of Chiang Kai-shek's five tiger generals. More importantly, three of the five tiger generals of our army were former students of Chiang Kai-shek. That is to say, Chiang Kai-shek has trained three outstanding military commanders for our party, the first of which is Marshal Xu Qianqian. He was a native of Wutaishan, Shanxi, and during the Great Revolution, he traveled thousands of miles from Shanxi to Guangzhou to apply for the Huangpu Military Academy, passed the interview, and successfully became a student of the first phase of Huangpu in the written examination.
During his time at school, Xu Shuai was not very active, his appearance was average, coupled with his relatively thin body, and he was not a Zhejiang life, so that Xu Shuai did not get the attention of the principal Chiang Kai-shek at the Whampoa Military Academy. Chiang Kai-shek not only did not pay attention to Xu Xiangqian's classmates, but just as he was about to graduate, Chiang Kai-shek, as the principal, had to have a spiritual communication with each graduate. To put it bluntly, it is Chiang Kai-shek who sees whether there is any talent that can be created, and if anyone is favored by him, then he will become a general of Chiang Kai-shek's concubine in the future.
Just at this time, Marshal Xu Qianqian walked into Chiang Kai-shek's office, and no one who wanted Chiang Kai-shek would look at Xu Shuai with a straight face. Just say this classmate, you can go down, just like this, Chiang Kai-shek judged people by his appearance and missed a really good military commander.
Now Chiang Kai-shek looked down on Xu Shuai, but within a few years, Xu Shuai became the best military commander in the Red Army, which caused Chiang Kai-shek a headache, including during the Liberation War, Xu Shuai commanded several battles with fewer victories, which made Chiang Kai-shek regret it endlessly.
The second is Lin Zong, who is also a Huangpu IV student of the Eight Classics, in his hometown due to the influence of his cousin, Lin Zong also threw himself into the revolution, and studied at the Whampoa Military Academy, becoming a fourth-term student, and later the Nationalist generals Zhang Lingfu, Hu Lian and others were classmates. However, during Lin Zong's studies at the Whampoa Military Academy, the situation was basically very similar to Xu Shuai. Nor did he get the attention of Chiang Kai-shek, and even a little looked down upon. You know, Lin Zong's appearance gives people the first impression, like a weak scholar. No one would have thought that he would become the commander of a million troops in the future.
Moreover, during his studies at the Whampoa Military Academy, Lin Zong's knowledge of military theory was average, not very outstanding, and even a little mediocre. Therefore, Lin Zong could not let Chiang Kai-shek look at him, and even Chiang Kai-shek did not know at all that there was a student surnamed Lin among the huangpu fourth-level students. It was not until during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression that General Lin led the 115th Division to command a Battle of Pingxingguan that Chiang Kai-shek learned that the commander of the Pingxingguan Victory was also a student who came out of the Whampoa Military Academy.
Both of the above are outstanding military commanders of our Party during the revolutionary war, and both graduated from the Whampoa Military Academy, and none of them were looked at by Chiang Kai-shek. As we all know, Chen Geng will be a student of the first phase of Huangpu, and during his time in school, he is famous all over the world, because of his excellent results in various disciplines, he is known as one of the three masters of Huangpu. Therefore, it was naturally favored by the principal Chiang Kai-shek, but Chen Geng was not the same as Chiang Kai-shek's ideological concept. Although Chiang Kai-shek attached great importance to Chen Geng and believed in different beliefs, General Chen Geng, who was regarded as a treasure by Chiang Kai-shek, finally left Chiang Kai-shek and joined the Red Army.
Later it turned out that General Chen Geng had chosen the right one, and if he continued to follow Chiang Kai-shek, he might have become a prisoner during the Liberation War or fled with Chiang Kai-shek. Then he chose to leave Chiang Kai-shek and, in the end, became one of the founding generals of our country. At the same time, he was also one of the outstanding military commanders during the Liberation War.
