Ruan (210–263 CE), courtesy name Emperor Sizong, was a native of the Chen Liuwei clan (Kaifeng, Henan). He was brilliant in writing, and at a young age, he showed good political talent.
Ruan's father, named Ruan, was one of the most influential "Seven Sons of Jian'an" in the era of Cao Cao and Cao Pi, and under the guidance of his father, Ruan Zhi read many books from an early age, sometimes reading behind closed doors, and reading was not going out for several months; Ruan Zhi liked the teachings of laozi and Zhuangzi in ancient times, liked to play in the mountains, was proficient in music, was particularly greedy for alcohol, often drunk for dozens of days, others said that he was demented, in fact, he was unwilling to cooperate with Sima Shi, but he was not able to openly oppose, so he used this negative method to resist.
In that year, Sima Zhao presided over the state affairs of the State of Wei, and he wanted to win over Ruan To serve himself and use Ruan's influence in the upper class to consolidate his position, so he sent people to ask Ruan to marry his daughter to his son Sima Yan. But Ruan Zhi was unwilling, he did not want to be related to the Sima family, but he could not openly refuse, so he drank all day and drank a mess, the matchmaker went to propose, ran again and again, and every time he saw Ruan Zhi drunk and sleeping. Sima Zhao had a lot of things to do, so he left the matter of marriage behind.
Ruan's reluctance to cooperate with Sima Shi was not only manifested in drinking alcohol all day, but also in his sudden cooperation and non-cooperation on the issue of being an official. As early as when Sima Yi was in power as a taifu and Cao Shuang was a general, Cao Shuang asked Ruan To come out as an official, and Ruan Shu said that he was ill and did not work, and soon after, Sima Yi killed Cao Shuang and hired Ruan Shu to come out as a Zhonglang, which greatly increased Ruan's reputation. When Sima Zhao was the Duke of Jin, Ruan Zhi also became a small official under the name of a small official. Once, Ruan Zhi said to Sima Zhao, "I have been to Dongping, and the customs and customs there are very good, so you should let me become an official." Sima Zhao was very happy, and appointed him as Dongping Xiang, and Ruan Zhi rode a donkey to his post, and when he arrived at Dongping Province, he demolished the walls, knocked down the gates, and let the inside and outside of the palace gate pass directly, and also abolished many complicated laws and regulations, and the dongping County was governed in an orderly manner, and the officials who had been in office for more than ten days returned.
Nguyen was famous for drinking, and he heard that one of the cooks in the infantry kitchen was very good at brewing wine and had more than three hundred wines in stock, so he asked to go to the infantry battalion as an officer and was appointed as an infantry lieutenant. Drinking made him drowsy all day, but also saved his life, Sima Zhao had a counselor named He Zeng, he knew that Ruan Zhi was not accustomed to Sima Shi's power, and suggested killing Ruan Zhi, but Sima Zhao always had a tolerant attitude towards him.
Nguyen Also likes to make some strange and actually very reasonable arguments, once, Nguyen Ju attended a cocktail party, everyone was talking about a person in a certain place who killed his mother, Nguyen Said: "Cough! Killing the father is not even close, how can you kill the mother?" The banquet was attended by people of high status in the upper echelons of society, all of whom paid attention to etiquette, and when they saw Ruan Zhi making such a remark, they all felt strange and blamed him for not talking nonsense. Ruan Ji said unhurriedly: "Chickens, ducks, piglets and puppies, these beasts only know that there are mothers who do not know that they have fathers, and the people who kill their fathers are just like these beasts, but killing their mothers is not even as good as these beasts!" When these words were spoken, everyone admired Ruan's insight.
In fact, Ruan Yuan's heart is very unstable, he still has a certain standard of understanding of society, he himself drinks all day long, and when his son also learns from him to drink all day long, he stops his son and does not let his son drink. He also wrote a famous article called "The Biography of Mr. Adult," which said: "Some 'gentlemen' in society who think they are of high moral character and rules of conduct talk and do things carefully and cautiously all day long, thinking that they are very safe, which is like lice in the slit of their pants, they do not go out of the slit of their pants all day long, they think they have food and drink, they are very safe, but once their pants are burned by fire, where can lice escape?" These literati and celebrities of ours live in this society like lice living in the crotch of their pants!" Although this metaphor is funny, it accurately expresses Nguyen's understanding of the society at that time.
In the winter of 263 AD, Nguyễn Nguyễn Đại finally "died", at the age of 54. In the history of ancient Chinese literature, Ruan Zhi is a very remarkable literary artist, and his representative works are more than 80 "Yong Huai Poems", all of which are five-character ancient poems, most of which are works that write scenes and lyricism, express their views and feelings on real life, and reveal Ruan's clear understanding of social love and hatred. After Ruan's death, his descendants compiled his works into a collection called "Ruan Infantry Collection".
