NIO unveils its second sedan: the ET5 starts at 328,000

On December 18, at NIO Day 2021, nio, a new car-making force, released its second sedan: ET5. The mid-sized smart electric coupe starts at 328,000 yuan before subsidies, and the BaaS solution (excluding batteries) starts at 258,000 yuan before subsidies, and is expected to start delivery in September 2022.

In terms of performance, ET5 accelerates by 4.3 seconds from 00 to 100 km/h, 33.9 meters from 10 km to zero braking distance, and has a drag coefficient as low as 0.24, and cooperates with a new generation of high-efficiency electric drive platform using silicon carbide power modules, equipped with a standard battery pack (75kWh) CLTC with a range of more than 550 km, equipped with a long battery pack (100 kWh) with a range of more than 700 km, equipped with an ultra-long battery pack (150 kWh) with a range of more than 1,000 km.

In terms of intelligent configuration, ET5 is equipped with 19 auxiliary driving functions as standard, equipped with the latest automatic driving technology NAD (NIO Autonomous Driving), through the Weilai supersensitive system Aquila and the supercomputing platform Adam, ET5 will gradually realize high-speed, urban areas, parking, power exchange and other scenarios, the whole process of safe and relaxed point-to-point automatic driving experience.

It should be pointed out that the full function of NAD adopts the service subscription model of "monthly activation and monthly payment", that is, ADaaS (AD as a Service), the service fee is 680 yuan per month, and the service will be gradually provided after completing the development and verification.

In addition, the ET5 is equipped with THE NIO PanoCinema, a digital cockpit with AR/VR technology. NIO and innovative AR equipment company NREAL have jointly developed exclusive AR glasses that can project a large screen with a visual distance of 6 meters and equivalent to 201 inches; and have also cooperated with NOLO to develop NIO VR Glasses, equipped with ultra-thin Pancake optical lenses, which can achieve binocular 4K display.

Weilai's charging and replacing ecology will also add color to ET5. According to the plan, in 2022, NIO will continue to lay out the charging and replacing service network, and plans to have more than 1,300 substations, 6,000 overcharge piles, and 10,000 destination charging piles nationwide.

ET5 will become a weapon for Weilai to impact the 300,000 yuan high-end smart pure electric car market. Previously, Weilai has listed the first pure electric car ET7, which has a starting price of 448,000 yuan, and its positioning is relatively high. ET7 is said to open lock orders on January 20, 2022, and delivery on March 28, 2022.
