At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the Baiyue region was again under the jurisdiction of the State of Wu, but there were no large numbers of Han Chinese. Later, the rule of the Jin Dynasty was relatively corrupt, so Vietnam was also in a semi-independent era, and later almost severed its ties with the Central Plains Dynasty. It was not until the Tang Dynasty that the Tang Dynasty once again conquered the area of Baiyue and now Vietnam.

However, after the Tang Dynasty, Vietnam once again became independent, and although the Ming and Qing dynasties also strengthened communication, there were also many Chinese who migrated to Vietnam.
