The 11th National Congress of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the 10th National Congress of the Chinese Writers Association opened in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on the morning of December 14.

"I have been to seven congresses, and when I first attended them in 1984, I was one of the youngest delegates in the audience. 37 years have passed, the middle-aged young writers of that year are all old writers, a large number of young people have become the backbone of the literary world, there are familiar names among them, there are new talents in the literary world who have never seen their literature, and there are also many strange newcomers. I was relieved to see those young people. They can be selected as delegates because they have written excellent works, recognized by readers, and attracted the attention of the literary world. The literary ideals of the predecessors are being inherited through the creative practice of generation after generation. "There are talented people in the Jiangshan generation", the cause of literature, endless life. It's a law, and that's why we can have confidence in the future of literature. It must be a generation that succeeds a generation, and a generation is better than a generation. I believe that the younger generation of writers will work harder, be better, care about the people, embrace the times, and write better works.

Jian Ping: The writing of the "People's Epic" is an honor and a responsibility

Participating in such a grand event is both glorious and somewhat heavy, because I feel a responsibility and mission. Listening to General Secretary Xi's speech in person, I was greatly inspired. In his speech, General Secretary Xi Jinping was full of emotion, full of sincerity, reiterated and emphasized that literary and artistic creation must "adhere to the people-centered", and earnestly taught writers to adhere to the people's position and put the people in the highest position in their hearts. "The people are the mother of literature and art", "The people are life, life is the people", and to create "people's epics" are all new expressions and new formulations, which are specific requirements for writers to create in the new era. I myself had rarely stepped out of my study before, and I was not familiar with the fiery creative life of the masses. But in the past 5 years, under the request and guidance of the Propaganda Department of the Shanghai Municipal CPC Committee, I have stepped out of the study hall, gone to society, gone to the masses of the people, and gone to real life, and created the reportage "List of Powers: Thirty-Six Articles" and "The Children of peace ark", whether it is writing about the grass-roots governance of the rural areas of Ninghai, Zhejiang, or writing about the navy and the battleship of the Eastern Theater going to deep blue, I was really deeply shocked in interviews and writing, and also broadened my horizons and hearts, and the creativity of the people (including heroic models) in the pursuit of a better life. I was deeply moved by the innovative efforts and struggles. I truly realize that this is the "people's epic", and it is a glory and responsibility for a writer to be able to take on the magnificent "people's epic" writing.

No matter what a writer writes, how he writes, he should consciously practice the people-centered creative orientation, have the masses of the people in his heart, have literary ideals, listen to the sonorous voice of the masses of the people in pursuing and creating a better life, listen to the call of the new era, write for the people at the same time, but also integrate himself into the people, and do what the general secretary said: "We must integrate our ideological tendencies and feelings with the people, sink our hearts, feelings, and thoughts into the people, and feel the pulse of the times and the glory of life together with the people." Zhang Ye: Use poetry to convey the power of faith and the spiritual realm

Since I first attended the National Congress of the China Writers Association in 1996, it is a great honor that I have participated in the National Congress of Writers for six consecutive times. I have also entered the ranks of old age in middle age. As a poet, the poetry has made little progress, and I am full of emotion and shame. I am very ordinary, however, "moss flowers and rice grains are small, but also learn peonies to open", every time I attend a meeting, I will enhance the poet's sense of responsibility and sense of mission. Listening to General Secretary Xi Jinping's speech this afternoon, I was deeply encouraged. He put forward 5 requirements and hopes for the vast number of literary and art workers, which I think was put forward at the historical node of the new era and is of great significance. The key words in his speech were "the times" and "the people". This made me more aware that while creating and writing poetry is personal, we must also get out of personalization, and we should describe the era we live in, write about the era, walk with the times, and be with the people, reflect the voice of the people, and speak out for the toiling masses. Ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign, poetry has always provided spiritual food for the times and the people. Poetry is a kind of awakening, but also a kind of transmission, conveying the power of faith, the spiritual realm, the sensitivity of artistic aesthetics. This will not change in any era.

I live in Shanghai, an international metropolis, a big city with profound historical and cultural heritage, and a solid foundation for the development of literature. How to write Shanghai, express the great changes and development of Shanghai, especially since the reform and opening up of the city, and the people's fighting spirit in construction, these touching themes are worthy of my deep thinking and excavation. Home and country feelings, open the world, love, and work hard for it. The poet is a member of the people and will surely merge into the vast torrent of the people.

Xu Ping: Writing for the people at the grassroots level

In 2016, I participated in the 10th National Congress of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and today in 2021, I participated in the 10th National Congress of the China Writers Association, listened to the general secretary's important speech twice, and twice deeply felt the general secretary's strong people's feelings, "life is the people, the people are life", the general secretary hopes that the majority of literary and art workers will adhere to the people's position and write an endless people's epic.

As a representative from the Grassroots Writers Association of Songjiang District, Shanghai, this is a rare opportunity to learn and communicate, and I am very excited. How can grassroots writers associations "feel the pulse of the times and the brilliance of life together with the people, and sing songs for the times and the people"?

The "14th Five-Year Plan" period is the first five years of China's comprehensive construction of a socialist modern country to march toward the second centennial goal, the key five years for Shanghai to accelerate the construction of a socialist modern international metropolis with world influence, and an important five years for us to build a modern new city of "science and technology, humanities and ecology" in Songjiang with high quality. It is foreseeable that during the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" period, China's cultural construction will also be a period of great development, great deeds, and great harvests.

Lingang Songjiang Science and Technology City is the starting point of the G60 science and technology innovation corridor in the Yangtze River Delta, and has become a high-end industrial cluster integrating 3D printing, intelligent manufacturing, robotics and other science and technology innovation industries, and will become a science and technology innovation corridor with international influence and an important source of innovation in China in the future. It is a subject that reflects The Transformation of China and the Spirit of China from a region. My impression is that as the grassroots writers association of Songjiang, it is indispensable to take responsibility, and in accordance with the requirements of the general secretary, the majority of members of the organization and action association should actively participate and enthusiastically invest, closely focus on and integrate into the construction of Songjiang's "science and technology, humanities, ecology" modern new city, with the theme content of "G60 science and technology innovation corridor construction" and "science and technology innovation Songjiang", "humanistic Songjiang" and "ecological Songjiang", go deep into life, serve the people, make faithful records with heart and affection, and use the pen in our hands to describe this great era in which we are living.
