The exhibition "Yellow River – Wang Keju" will be held at the Shandong Art Museum on December 15. Among the nearly 200 series of exhibits, the most eye-catching is Wang Keju's 161.6-meter oil painting long scroll completed by Wang Keju in four years of work - "Yellow River".
The Yellow River is the mother river of the Chinese nation, and for thousands of years, with its indomitable and surging forward momentum, it has shaped the spiritual character of the Chinese nation's unremitting self-improvement and is an important foundation for the Chinese nation to strengthen its cultural self-confidence. As a province and region along the Yellow River and the mouth of the Yellow River, Shandong is deeply nourished and nourished by the Yellow River, and the Yellow River culture and Qilu culture are intertwined and commonly inherited, carrying deep value and significance. For Wang Keju, who was born and grew up in Shandong, painting the Yellow River with the brush of art is a dream and a mission-like call.
Since 2009, Wang Keju has begun to prepare for the drawing of the Yellow River map, repeatedly sketching, tempering language, studying the experience of his predecessors in long-scroll production, and formulating interlocking creative plans and routes. The detailed notes fully show his judgment on the selected regional landscape, including the representativeness of the landscape, but also the consideration of the interconnection and relationship between the various landscapes, and the demonstration of the local climate and characteristics. After experiencing the experience of many Works on the Theme of the Yellow River, in 2016, the long volume of "Yellow River" officially began. In the form of self-driving, Wang Keju traveled 40,000 kilometers along the Yellow Road for four years, immersed in the scene, in-depth dialogue, familiar with the history of the Yellow River, understood the culture of the Yellow River, and painted all the way from the birthplace of the Yellow River to the Shandong section of his hometown and the mouth of the Yellow River, making an overall statue for the Mother River.
"When I painted the Yellow River, I had a feeling of pilgrimage in my heart, and my pilgrimage was to go from the source of the Yellow River to the mouth of the sea, and use a brush to engrave the Yellow River in my heart on the canvas, and every stroke was full of reverence, just like the Tibetans crawling on the pilgrimage, I measured the Yellow River with brushes and colors." Wang Keju shared his creative testimonials.
The long scroll begins with "The Sea of Stars", and the painter opens the curtain with a reckless and soothing rhythm, presenting the source of the Yellow River in a panoramic way. Immediately afterward, "Zhaling Lake", "Eling Lake" and "Guoluo Grassland" and "Anima Qing Snow Mountain" slowly unfolded, and the painter expressed the priorities of the water flow with lines, enriching the rhythm of the picture with the color light and dark cold and warm, from the trickle of the source to the magnificent water that flowed straight down and poured thousands of miles. Continuing to move forward, "Hukou" and "Sanmenxia - Little Wave Bottom" suddenly appeared, and the Yellow River roared like a giant dragon with the momentum of hitting the heavens and the earth, suddenly approaching the realm of "the water of the Yellow River rising from heaven"; turning into the "Yulu Land", "Taishan Yellow River Jade Belt", "Quehua Spring Color", "Qilu Land", the Yellow River showed motherly love and peace, the rice was fat, the grass and trees were fragrant, the clear sky was magnificent, and finally entered the sea. In the final chapter of "The Yellow River", the use of color is brought to the extreme: a crimson current of rose and orange slowly pours into the clear blue sea, full of eyes, heralding the arrival of a better era of the Mother River.
The total length of the scroll is 161.6 meters, the height is 2 meters, and the majesty is like "the Yellow River roars for days, and the loud rumors are like Yin Thunder", the surging is like "the nine-curved Yellow River Wanli Sand, the waves and winds are from the end of the world", and the calm is like "the day is at the end of the mountain, and the Yellow River flows into the sea"... It is not only a volume of landscape paintings, but also an epic of the Yellow River, a symphony of ups and downs.

Zhang Xiaoling, dean of the School of Fine Arts of East China Normal University and former vice president of the National Academy of Painting of China, analyzed and highly praised Wang Keju's "Yellow River" from an aesthetic point of view: "The ultimate point of the aesthetics of the Mother River is the construction of different realms, and the realm is the spiritual atmosphere presented by the picture structure. The difficulty faced by Wang Keju is that he must not only deal with different regional materials with rich imagination, create different picture realms, but also make them contiguous into a whole, and strive to continuously breathe in the continuous 'transition' of the picture. ”

The purpose of this exhibition is to evoke the infinite awe and love for the Yellow River in people's hearts by presenting the image of the Yellow River with thousands of gestures to the audience, and constantly excavating the values and spiritual maps of the times contained in the Yellow River culture. ”
