A few days ago, "Spring to Jiangnan - Shengshi Gusu - Special Exhibition of "Qianlong South Tour Map" was exhibited in the West Hall of Suzhou Museum.
In 2006, on the occasion of the opening of the Suzhou Museum, the long volume of Xu Yang's "Gusu Prosperous Map" collected in the Liaoning Provincial Museum returned to Suzhou for the first time. Today, when the West Hall of Suzhou Museum was completed and opened, the sixth volume of Xu Yang's "Qianlong South Tour Map", "Resident Gusu", made a wonderful appearance in the West Pavilion, which was another visual event in the spring to Jiangnan.
The sixth volume of the "Qianlong Southern Tour Map", "Stationed in Gusu", uses the realistic long scroll form of traditional painting and the scattered perspective technique of changing scenery step by step, combined with the poetry of the Qianlong imperial system, integrating poetry, books and paintings, showing the details of the provincial customs, the inspection of the people, and the excursion of lakes and mountains in the process of "Qianlong Descending the Jiangnan". When composing the painting, the painter took the Grand Canal as a clue and continuously showed the peaceful scene of Shengping in the area of Beiwangting, Hushuguan, Fengqiao, Tiger Hill, Zhangmen and Wannian Bridge in sections, passing through Xumen into Sioux City and ending at the palace of the Weaving Bureau. Along the way, the streets and lanes are crisscrossed, the roofs and terraces are lined up one after another, and the images of officials and gentry, monks and merchants, women, children, and children, old and young are vivid and active. It can be said that in a "realistic" way, this volume will be more than two hundred years ago, the most famous industrial and commercial capital of the country's prosperous glory, all-round, multi-angle, truly displayed, can be called the best witness of Suzhou's history.
