—— Appreciate Mr. Jiang Yongqian's "Five Hundred Arhats" picture long volume small notes
"The Hundred Houses of Arhats are vivid, and their painstaking and lonely intentions are the first." The famous foreign golden city is unique, portraying the feelings of the great thousand. This is a small poem created by the author for the recently completed artistic masterpiece of Gansu Arts and Crafts Master Mr. Jiang Yongqian, the 30-meter-long volume "Five Hundred Luohan Figures". Mr. Jiang Yongqian is a senior Chinese arts and crafts artist, craft micro-carver, gourd sculptor, painter and seal engraver in Gansu.
Jiang Yongqian, born in 1970 in Linxia, Gansu Province, taught his mother, and then visited Beijing, Shaanxi, Qinghai and other places to study. During the period of study, he carefully followed the teachers diligently, took the essence and worked hard, and finally walked out of his own road of calligraphy, painting, gourd, and carving art. After his completion, Jiang Yongqian settled in Lanzhou, Jincheng, for a long time, specializing in gourd carving and painting art, and was often invited to colleges and universities to exchange painting art creations with students. In 2018, the National Art Evaluation Center jointly evaluated the national first-class artists, Chinese craft micro-carving art masters, gourd kings, sculptors, fool painters, seal engravers, and their artistic lives in western commercial daily, Lanzhou Evening News, Lanzhou Daily, Xin Pao, Gansu TELEVISION, Lanzhou TV, radio stations and other major news media interviews and reports. He was good at thinking and diligent in accumulating, which laid a solid foundation for the development of his later painting and sculpture art career. In the international stunt competition, the "500 Arhats" carved on Mr. Jiang Yongqian's gourd impressed the audience and judges. On the small uneven gourd, each arhat's face part looks the size of a grain of rice. Jiang Yongqian's pair of clever hands brought the "500 Arhats" carved on the gourd to life, and each Arhat's posture and shape were different. It fully shows the rich connotation of its vivid demeanor and ink color. The author has also created a gourd painting for Mr. Jiang Yongqian, a master of Gansu arts and crafts who created LinjiangXian and Title Gansu Arts and Crafts: Laughing gourd belly drum, never ashamed of the world. Now the master is embedded with a virgin boy. The world's good stories continue, and the immortals are ancient.

I met Mr. Jiang Yongqian 20 years ago. It was out of concern and love for Lanzhou's intangible cultural heritage, and the author used his free time to meet Mr. Yongqian in the Lanzhou City God Temple, and they have known each other so far. Recently, Mr. WeChat sent me the 30-meter-long "Five Hundred Arhats" figure that he recently completed, and I was shocked at the same time that I felt that it was reasonable. The "Five Hundred Arhats" diagram created by Mr. Yongqian is indeed amazing. Only to see that the arhats in the paintings are varied, each one is vibrant and moving, and the unique, vivid, interesting demeanor, and the rich spiritual connotation of the ink color are vividly depicted by the painter. Its entire long scroll layout is exquisite, descending dragons and beasts, lifelike. I remember that five years ago, Mr. Nagazen had planned to draw a long scroll of "five hundred arhats", and I just listened to it. But I didn't expect that after taking action, I was often disturbed by the trivialities of life, and I used the quiet night to create. Finally, it was completed after the Spring Festival of the Year of the Tiger at the beginning of the year of the ox.
The long scroll of "Five Hundred Arhats" can be described as a rare artistic masterpiece. In the "Five Hundred Arhats Long Scroll", it is only seen that the arhats in the painter's pen have different looks and come to life, "including their personality clothing, the movements are different." It shows Mr. Yongqian's skillful artistic creation technique and profound artistic skills. The characters in the paintings are extremely charming, ethereal, and simple and natural. The Luohan painter in the work does not seek to be similar, although his face is strange, but he is kind, compassionate, and free, and seems to have a magical power that makes people suddenly penetrate the prosperity and hypocrisy of the red earth. It also fully demonstrates Mr. Yongqian's profound artistic talent and unique artistic charm and his spirit of perseverance and perseverance.
The author firmly believes that the 30-meter art masterpiece of "Five Hundred Arhats" will surely occupy a place in traditional Chinese culture, not to mention that Luohan has the auspicious meaning of helping people get rid of all the troubles in life. In this painting, the painter also pinned on the people's desire for a happy life and the understanding of kindness, and expressed people's desire for good fortune.
It is reported that Mr. Yongqian participated in the Samoa Embassy "Walking with the World" International Friendly Exchange Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition on June 16, 2018, the International Calligraphy and Painting Art Exhibition of the Slovak Embassy on October 16, 2020, the academic report on gourd appreciation and creation at Northwest Normal University in 2009, the engraved gourd works were collected by the Business School of the National University of Singapore in June 2016, and the professor of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Italy, exchanged gourd creation techniques with Mr. Jiang Yongqian in January 2019. In 2021, the China Philatelic Collection, which warmly celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, released its gourd works and paintings, and in 2021, the carved gourd works and paintings were collected by the American Sierra and Wilburn Gourd Farm Team.
