Li He came from an extraordinary background. He was born in a dilapidated aristocratic family, a descendant of Li Liang, the uncle of Tang Gaozu Li Yuan, and a distant branch of the Tang Dynasty, and can also be regarded as a nobleman. It was only by the time of Li He's father, Li Jinsu, that he had already fallen into the middle of the family road and lived in seclusion in Changgu.
Li He, who could not be promoted to a scholar, traveled back and forth to Chang'an in the last few years of his life, perhaps by virtue of his status as a distant relative of the imperial family and the recommendation of his mentor and friend Han Yu, although he served as a few minor officials in the Tang Dynasty, which attached great importance to the achievements of the imperial examination, but his career was still dismal.
And when he was crushed by fate, and no longer had the original ambition, but left Chang'an with sorrow and anger, he placed his grief on the golden and bronze immortals who were made by Emperor Wu of Han and moved by Emperor Wei Ming, and thus wrote the famous "Song of the Golden Copper Immortals", which contains a sentence "If the heavens have love, the sky is old".
According to Zhu Ziqing's "Li He Annals", this poem was written around the eighth year of the Tang Dynasty and the Eighth Year of the Tang Dynasty, when Li He resigned from his post as Feng Lilang due to illness and went from Beijing to Luo, where he was written on the way. At that time, Li He had "mixed feelings, pretended not to think otherwise, and sent his sorrow to the ears of the golden and bronze immortals."
Since the outbreak of the Anshi Rebellion in the last years of Tianbao, the Tang Dynasty has been in a state of collapse. Li He's aristocratic home of the "tang kings and grandsons" has long since declined.
In the face of this harsh reality, Li He's mood was very unstable, and he was anxious to establish meritorious deeds, revitalize the national prestige, and at the same time shine the lintel and restore the status of the clan office. However, after entering Beijing, he ran into walls everywhere, because there was no hope of entering, there was no way to serve the country, and finally he had to leave with anger.
And this "Golden Bronze Immortal Ci Han Song" expresses exactly such a solemn feeling that intertwines the pain of the family and the sorrow of the world.
After leaving Chang'an, Li He went all the way west and served as an army aide for 3 years. At that time, the Tang Dynasty had already shown signs of turmoil, the separatist forces were rampant, Li He's new boss was rebellious and simply complained of illness and recuperation, and Li Heqiang, who had no way to go, returned to his hometown in Henan, where he died of illness and died at the age of twenty-seven.
However, although Li Heshi's journey is bleak, he has left people with amazing verses, and this "if the sky is full of love, the sky is old" is one of the representative sentences.
