"Chief, please leave us two guides, and we will revolt!" This sentence made Song Shilun, the commander of the Huaye Ten Columns, feel relieved. He never expected that an unexpected loss would allow him to "pick up" an entire battalion of troops!
With the unfolding of the Huaihai Campaign, Huang Baitao, commander of the Seventh Corps of the Kuomintang Army, made a mistake in command, and his troops gave the East China Field Army a chance after wasting a lot of time in vain. Under the command of Chen Yi and Su Yu, the East China Field Army continued to approach the enemy and waited for an opportunity to launch a decisive battle.
On the night of November 6, 1948, the 10th Column of the East China Field Army, Song Shilun, prepared to launch an attack on the enemy. Before the battle, as an excellent battlefield commander, he habitually had to personally reconnoiter the enemy situation. This is somewhat risky for a column commander. But Song Shilun was not worried about his own safety, and even regarded this behavior as a habit. After some investigation, Song Shilun took four guards in a jeep and prepared to return from the front line to the Headquarters of the Tenth Column.

This trip, Song Shilun did not walk less. When it was time to go back, the jeep driver was a little lost because it was late. The guards of the Song Shilun felt that they got out of the car to inquire, and later found a local as a guide. Not knowing what was going on, the guide took them to Hanzhuang.
At this time, Han Zhuang was stationed in a battalion of the Kuomintang.
The results are predictable. When the Song Shilun passed by Hanzhuang, it was almost immediately intercepted by the enemy. About 10 Nationalist soldiers, after seeing the jeep, immediately held weapons and shouted: "Stop! Come over and talk alone, or we'll shoot!" ”
When the guards saw that they had encountered the enemy, they quickly said to Song Shilun: "The chief quickly leaves, and I stay behind to cover." Song Shilun was not in a hurry and said: "Don't turn off the car, don't turn off the lights." The guards stayed in the car for the time being and acted opportunistically. I used to meet them. Without waiting for others to object, he got out of the car and walked toward the enemy.
Song Shilun revealed his identity to the enemy and asked about the other party's situation. Originally, these units belonged to the 3rd Battalion of the 111th Regiment, and the battalion commander was named Wang Shijiang. Instead of embarrassing the Wheel of Time, they welcomed him to their battalion headquarters.
At this time, Wang Shijiang had already received the report and hurried over. As soon as he saw Song Shilun, he immediately walked forward quickly, held out his hands, and said, "Hello Commander Song, my name is Wang Shijiang, and I am an underground party member!" “
Wang Shijiang was right, he was indeed an old underground party member. Wang Shijiang was born in 1914 and has had a passion for serving the country since he was a child. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, he signed up for the army and joined the 110th Brigade of the Kuomintang 29th Route Army. At that time, his brigade commander was named He Jifeng.
The 29th Route Army fought with the Japanese army many times, and Wang Shijiang also killed the invaders on the battlefield many times, and made many achievements. He personally experienced the Great Wall War of Resistance and the Lugou Bridge Incident, and his style was brave and tenacious. However, in a battle, Wang Shijiang was injured in his left arm, fractured his arm bone, and had serious muscle damage. Due to the lack of medical treatment, when he was taken to the rear hospital, the wound was already seriously infected. At that time, the doctor took a look at it and said, "Don't treat it, your arm is ruined, and if you want to live, you have to amputate your leg!" "Wang Shijiang was stupid at that time!" He was only 33 years old and had his own ambitions in mind. Losing his left arm would be tantamount to losing the hope of his life, which he could not accept under any circumstances. Later, Wang Shijiang entrusted the relationship and was sent to the hospital of the Kuomintang military unit.
The hospitals of the yan clan troops are not comparable to the hospitals of the miscellaneous army. The wounded soldiers not only have clean beds, but also a large supply of medicines, and each person can also receive a 10 yuan injury allowance! Wang Shijiang successfully saved his left arm here, but at the same time he was also confused. He didn't understand that they were all contributing to the country, so how could they be treated so far behind?
In the hospital, people like Wang Shijiang who came in with a relationship were also slighted. Not only are medical resources monopolized by the serious concubines, but subsidies are often withheld. Later, some of the wounded rioted en masse, but they were soon brutally suppressed. Wang Shijiang was full of anger and could not send out, so he moved the idea of defecting to the Eighth Road. His superior, Qiu Xiaoting, stopped him and told him that even in such a force, he should serve well, should not engage in infighting, and should be unanimous with the outside world, and it was his duty to defeat the invaders. Wang Shijiang's mind slowly cleared up, and he began to fight on the battlefield again.
Since then, Qiu Xiaoting has become Wang Shijiang's "life mentor", and the two people have chatted together without a problem. When the time was ripe, Qiu Xiaoting revealed his identity to Wang Shijiang: "I am the underground party of the CCP! After a long period of investigation, I feel that you meet the conditions for joining our party organization. Would you like to be our comrade? Wang Shijiang was overjoyed and soon joined the party organization under qiu Xiaoting's introduction! The year was 1938, and for the next ten years, Wang Shijiang had been lurking in the Kuomintang troops, becoming a senior traffic officer who was "uploaded and sent." Later, by chance, Wang Shijiang's old superior, He Jifeng, also secretly joined the party and maintained contact with the party organization through him.
After the end of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Chiang Kai-shek set off a civil war, and Wang Shijiang, He Jifeng, and other secret party members were ordered to continue to lurk in the Kuomintang army. They moved with the Seventh Army, and seeing that they had reached the most critical moment in the battle, the two were ready to revolt. Now, the long-awaited chief of the People's Liberation Army appeared in front of him, and Wang Shijiang sensed that the time had come, so he quickly contacted Song Shilun and expressed his willingness to listen to the dispatch.
After confirming the local identity, Song Shilun asked Wang Shijiang about the troops. Wang Shijiang said: "The soldiers and commanders of the 3rd Battalion are all right, and I have completed the ideological work. As long as the chief gives an order, we can revolt at any time. Song Shilun was overjoyed and immediately issued an order for Wang Shijiang's troops to move to the designated area, leaving a gap for the PLA's attack. Wang Shijiang expressed the hope of leaving two guards as guides, and Song Shilun immediately agreed.
In this way, a battalion of Nationalist troops became the first unit of the Seventh Corps to revolt. In the next two days, two generals, He Jifeng and Zhang Kexia, also revolted, which is the famous "Jiawang Uprising". For a time, more than 20,000 Nationalist soldiers stopped resisting, and the flanks of the Seventh Corps were completely torn apart. On November 22, Huang Baitao, who was full of thoughts, looked at the words "Huang Baitao is loyal to the country" on the presidential palace pass, and pulled out his pistol to understand his life. The East China Field Army also made a start in the Battle of Huaihai.
Many years later, General Song Shilun recalled this incident and still said with great emotion: "Fortunately, I met Comrade Wang Shijiang, otherwise I would have been 'glorious' in the Battle of Huaihai!"
After the uprising, Wang Shijiang became a commander of the People's Liberation Army and was as brave as ever on the battlefield. Later, he made many meritorious contributions and became the commander of the Mudanjiang Military Subdistrict. His historical story of "the first person in the Jiawang Uprising" has always been talked about.
