In 1945, he was promoted to commander of the Kuomintang 60th Army, was transferred to the northeast to participate in the civil war against the people, and at the instigation of underground party members, resolutely chose to oppose chiang kai-shek uprising and embarked on a bright road. After the outbreak of the Korean War, he led the reorganized 50th Army into the war in the first batch to fight in Korea and win glory for the country, which he may not have dared to think of before.
After that, Zeng Zesheng was awarded the rank of lieutenant general and served as a member of the National Defense Commission and a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
In 1973, General Zeng Zesheng died of illness in Beijing at the age of 73.
