Xining, 7 Dec (Xinhua) -- On the 7th, the first Youth Curling Championship in Qinghai Province kicked off at the Qinghai Doba National Plateau Sports Training Base, with a total of 78 players from 6 teams from Qinghai Province participating, and the top three in the youth group and the junior group will be contested in 6 days.
Li Weidong, director of the Qinghai Winter Sports and Outdoor Sports Management Center, introduced that the championship is divided into youth group and junior group, which is the first youth level event held in Qinghai Province for professional curling sports, and is a test of the level of curling sports competition in Qinghai Province.
"The competition will help Qinghai Province to further create a good atmosphere of 'Qinghai Winter Olympics, Ice and Snow Benefiting the Whole People', and show the vigorous development of winter sports in Qinghai Province and the competitive style of qinghai youth to all curling enthusiasts and winter project practitioners." The competition is hosted by the Qinghai Provincial Sports Bureau, organized by the Qinghai Winter Project and Outdoor Sports Management Center, the Qinghai Provincial Sports Work Second Team, the Qinghai Provincial Sports School, the Qinghai Doba National Plateau Sports Training Base, and co-organized by the Qinghai Ice and Snow Sports Association and the Qinghai Mountaineering Association.
