At that time, in order to pursue the American troops fleeing south, the 335th Regiment of the 112th Division of the 38th Army of the Volunteer Army was ordered to penetrate south to the line of Songkuo Peak to prevent the American troops from continuing to flee south.
In order to survive, the US army desperately launched a fierce attack on the positions on the front line of Songkuo Peak, but under the courageous struggle of the soldiers of our volunteer army, it finally blocked the US army and created conditions for the final annihilation of a large number of enemy troops. Seeing that Yang Wenhai had been seriously injured, Li Yu'an hurriedly asked the messengers to carry Yang Wenhai on his back and retreat one after another, while he continued to stay in the position with the soldiers surnamed Cai. Soon after, the enemy launched another attack, and the warriors surnamed Cai were soon killed, leaving Li Yu'an alone. After dropping the last grenade, Li Yu'an was also shot and fell. However, Li Yu'an did not die after being shot, and the bullet passed through his right chest and shot out from the back. Although Li Yu'an was a native of Shandong, he went to the northeast to do hard work at a very young age, and he has always been more familiar with the northeast, so he asked to return to the northeast. In 1952, Li Yu'an returned to Bayan County, Heilongjiang, where he joined the army, in 1946.
