On December 26, 2019, Wei Wei, a Chinese student studying abroad, was executed at the Fukuoka Detention Center in Japan, 16 years after he was arrested.

Committing crimes for "righteousness"

The three searched for a long time, but they all gave up for one reason or another, until in June, Shinjiro Matsumoto, who was driving a luxury car, was locked as prey by Yang Ning.

At about 11 o'clock on the night of June 19, 2003, the three people who had stepped on the spot for many days aimed at the opportunity and broke into Matsumoto Shinjiro's home while Matsumoto Shinjiro was not at home.
They came to the bedroom first, but they didn't expect to wake up their sleeping brother, so they directly strangled 11-year-old Xiaohai.
Then he tied the 8-year-old girl and threw her hands and feet in the living room, and walked to her mother, Chika, who was bathing in the bathroom.
Chika struggled and was frantically abused after being gang-raped by the trio until Shinjiro Matsumoto returned home at one o'clock in the morning.
Shinjiro Matsumoto was beaten unconscious with a blunt object by three people, and then locked up with handcuffs, and the desperate couple knew that they had no possibility of survival, so they begged the three to spare their innocent child.
But for the bestial 3, the plea will only make their hearts more twisted.
They threw the dead boy in front of Shinjiro and strangled his daughter alive in front of him.
In the end, the couple also became the unjust souls of the three people.
Hatefully, until all four members of the family died, they unhurriedly searched for the belongings in the house, but in the end, they only found less than 40,000 yen in cash.
Later, in order to cover up the crime, the three drove the bodies of the four people to the dock in Matsumoto Shinjiro's luxury car, tied them to the bodies with dumbbells and other heavy objects that had been prepared long ago, and sank into the sea.
They thought that there were such heavy objects as dumbbells, and when the bodies of several people floated up, they would have long been unrecognizable, and they had already run back to China, and the Japanese police would definitely not be able to search their bodies.
But to their surprise, Matsumoto Shinjiro's father discovered the mysterious disappearance of his son's family the next day because he had to take his grandson and granddaughter to and from school every day, and reported it directly.
At five o'clock in the afternoon of the same day, the bodies of a family of four also floated up, adults who were tortured to death and children who were strangled alive, this massacre shocked the whole of Japan!
Who would have thought that yesterday, a family that was harmonious and happy would become an unjust soul in the cold sea today?
Under the pressure of public opinion, the police intensively visited the surrounding shops, especially the stores selling dumbbells, hand bags and other supplies, and after checking and verifying the owner and store monitoring, obtained a portrait of the suspect, and finally determined Wang Liang's identity information.
On August 3, during a search of the prison where Wang Liang lived, police found the clothes he was wearing on the day of the crime and, based on other evidentiary clues, locked the prisoners on Chinese students Yang Ning, Wei Wei and Wang Liang.
But Wang Liang and Yang Ning returned to China as early as June 24, and before the police could launch a search for Wei Wei, Wei Wei was arrested by the Fukuoka police for committing another case.
"Regret" no initial
Yang Ning returned to China and ran to Beijing, relying on his family's financial support to continue to live his free life, while Wang Liang got a fake ID card and worked in Liaoyang City.
However, because he usually made a big move to attract people's attention and was reported by the masses, under Wang Liang's initiative, this massacre came to light, and the Chinese police also arrested Yang Ning.
Unexpectedly, the murderer was obviously caught, but when Wei Wei was interrogated, the police encountered an unprecedented problem - Wei Wei was very uncooperative.
No matter what the police said, Wei Wei always refused to explain and confronted the police with full strength, until the Japanese police, with the cooperation of the Chinese police, successfully extradited Yang Ning and Wang Liang from China to Fukuoka, Japan for interrogation, which opened Wei Wei's mouth and convicted him.
Yang Ning was executed in 2005, while Wang Liang was sentenced to life imprisonment by a court for turning himself in and other major meritorious acts.
On the other hand, Wei Wei, who was far away in Japan, did not do so bluntly, and since 2005, the Fukuoka court has experienced a rather lengthy ruling on Wei Wei's crimes.
In short: the court sentenced the death penalty, and Wei Wei appealed; Two years later, the High Court upheld the original judgment, and Wei Wei appealed again; It was not until October 2011 that the Japanese Supreme Court again rejected Wei Wei's appeal, still not recognizing Wei's "non-principal offender" claim, that the trial was finally closed.
For six years, Wei Wei refused to accept the death penalty on the grounds that he was not the mastermind of the case.
And from the trial to the execution, another eight years passed.
In Japan, the death penalty is very rare, and it is also difficult to carry out the death penalty, which is notoriously "difficult to execute the death penalty".
The reason for this is that there are 15 or 16 crimes for which the death penalty is nominally imposed in Japanese law, but in practice, the basis for the death penalty is premeditated murder and the number of killings is more than two, so most criminals will not be sentenced to death.
For the Minister of Justice, signing one's name on an application for execution is like killing a person with his own hands, so there may be situations where the Minister of Justice is unwilling to sign and cannot carry out the execution.
It was under such circumstances that Wei Wei was not executed until the eighth year of the verdict, which was the first order signed by the then Minister of Justice Masako Mori after taking office.
After learning that the Minister of Justice had signed the death penalty order, Wei Wei expressed his hope that he could write a letter to his parents who were far away in China.
And this suicide note before his death, there is only one word throughout - repentance.
On December 26, 2019, Wei Wei was hanged, and the Japanese people waited for more than a decade, and the dust seemed to settle.
Neglect but not omission
In the Fukuoka Massacre, Yang Ning and Wang Liang thought that they would escape the law by returning to China; Wei Wei, on the other hand, thought that he could escape responsibility by constantly protesting and saying that some specious clues misled the police, but evil is evil, and it will not be covered by fog forever, nor will it change due to different countries.
