"One-armed" boy Wang Shuai: Riding on the "half of the wings" must also strive to "soar"

Wang Shuai chats with classmates in a dormitory at Northeast Forestry University on September 15. In the ranks of the new students of Northeast Forestry University, the military posture and hand style of the entire column of students were slightly uncoordinated because of Wang Shuai. Born in 2002 in Dangjiashan Village, Fengrun District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province, Wang Shuai was born with a left arm disability, and was admitted to Northeast Forestry University with a score of 615 points in 2020, becoming a freshman in the School of Economics and Management. From childhood to adulthood, Wang Shuai, who has a broken left arm, has to pay more hard work than others to adapt to life and study. "Although you are missing half of your arm, you don't feel different from others, you have to learn to do things yourself." From the day Wang Shuai understood things, his mother had been instructing him in this way. In 2018, Wang Shuai's mother died of serious injuries in a gas explosion accident, and Wang Shuai studied harder, determined to complete his mother's expectations of him, and was admitted to a key university. Entering the university, Wang Shuai wanted to go to graduate school and absorb more knowledge. Wang Shuai said: "I was not born perfect, but with half of the 'wings', I also have to strive to 'soar'." Photo by Xinhua News Agency reporter Wang Song
