Ancient buildings refer to civil buildings and public buildings with historical significance before the founding of the People's Republic of China, including buildings in the Republic of China. In China, many ancient towns and most large cities still retain some ancient buildings. However, in the modern era of large-scale construction, we must look at and protect ancient buildings and their cultural characteristics from the perspective of development. It not only preserves the ancient architectural culture in the world, but also makes the ancient cultural heritage produce modern value.
In this issue, we will introduce the four major buildings of ancient China.
1. China's four major palaces: the Forbidden City in Beijing, the Forbidden City in Shenyang, the Forbidden City in Taipei, and the Potala Palace.
2. Four famous caves: Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, Yungang Grottoes, Longmen Grottoes, Maijishan Grottoes.
3. Four famous passes: Shanhaiguan, Jiayuguan, Yumen and Friendship Pass.
4. Four famous towers: Songyue Temple Tower, Qianxun Tower, Shakya Tower, Feihong Tower.
